I prefer the pre 1997 uniforms. I think 97 was the first year they got rid of the teal helmets. 

As sdg210 said above, 96 got rid of the teal helmets but they were being phased out by 95. In 95 the black helmets were being worn at home except for Sundays when they wore the vests with the teal jerseys and helmets. In 96 they wore black helmets full time home and road, black caps only at home, but the teal road cap with the black bill still made a few appearances in 96 but not many. By 97 there was zero teal helmets and caps.

Send me a pic of that. That's total crap. Well I guess in theory both caps still existed but were never worn. It's just like the orange cap now that hasn't been worn in 3 years but is technically still around.

Well that sure is interesting yet very cool to see. Sure looks like what I thought. The 2 teal caps still existed post 96 but the team just chose not to wear it again.
