Marlins partner with Fanatics

So what does this actually mean in normal people terms?

And does the team make money off of this? And is this what that tweet last week was hinting at?

It'll be interesting to see what this results in. The idea of more affordable stuff sounds nice, but we'll see what it is. There's no need for T-shirts to be $20.

I guess good for them but this just sounds like more merchandise options and some lower prices... not sure what omnichannel integration and improved fan experience means in this case.

$20 actually sounds reasonable to me considering how expensive most of the merchandise is. You think we might actually see lower prices than that?

Soooo...

#CheapJeter makes Marlins merchandise cheaper because he knows all 12 Marlins fans are too cheap to buy more expensive merchandise?

Yankee fans don't need cheaper merchandise, Marlins are such an embarrassment of an organization.

I don't quite understand what it'll do/how it'll be different, though. "Omnichannel retail experience"? What does that mean? Apparently Fanatics already runs "e-commerce" for the team. So how will this be different?

"I'll believe it when I see it"

What if I send you a message saying I saw it but you don't actually get to see it... would you believe it when I saw it but you didn't????

Omnichannel retail experience

It is a term the marketing VP says in a meeting to sound smart, the bosses are too scared to admit they don't know what it means. It sounds good though so they nod and say "I like it"

Exactly.

I mean, that's what it sounds like. But it's a cryptic announcement to regular people lol.

The only change I can see from this is the online store will better match the retail location. Currently some stuff is only available in the retail store and some other stuff is only online, the selections differ.

That's true - I remember always being surprised at how many different/additional options they had in the ballpark team stores compared to what is listed online.

Yea that seems a little bit lame to make a big deal and have a 10 year partnership for. Not that it's not a good thing but it seems so minor.

"Great news: that $45 shirt you saw at the store is now available online!!!!!!"

They run sales online often, I wonder if those sales will now also take place at the store.

What part of "omnichannel integration" did you not understand?
