January 7, 200422 yr Author Pick up lines are supposed to be funny... They are "ice breakers". Some men (and women sometimes) use them more than others. It all depends on the circumstances. Pick-up lines can work if they are used in a humurous manner. The guy who uses them on every hot girl in the bar is bound to take a social beating. However, the guy who is genuinely kind and interested can use a more gentle approach to win a girl's attention. Instead of the more typical line - "Come here often?", he might say something like, "Do you come here for every ladies night?". This is a more specific "line" and will probably make the girl laugh. Anytime you can make a girl laugh or smile - you're in.
