February 12, 20251 yr Author The future is obviously Agustin Ramirez and Joe Mack. Expect both to start in AAA with Fortes and Rule 5 pickup Hicks starting in the majors. If Hicks doesn't make it and/or a trade is worked out where he is optioned Ramirez would likely get the first shot. Losing Banfield kind of sucks as he showed some flashes but can't blame either party for moving on when he was always the third best option. Ignoffo is the wild card. He is older for the levels he was playing but he has done nothing but hit at every level.Robledo is the best of the lot of the lower level catchers but is a long way away.
February 12, 20251 yr Me when I opened this thread because the title made me think it was gonna be something completely different.
March 28, 20251 yr Author Rule 5 pick Liam Hicks made the team and will get his first start in game #2 against the Pirates.Of concern is the Pirates had 6 stolen bases against the Marlins in the opener (albeit the last two were kind of gifted). That's not acceptable going forward and Fortes needs to do better.
