Coming into this offseason the Marlins were said to be taking a look into Devin Williams, Raisel Iglesias, Ryan Helsey, ect. They have signed nobody to the bullpen. Kenley Jansen signed with DET yesterday and that leaves now Pete Fairbanks as really the only good option left. According to sources, Fairbanks is not with the idea of not completely getting the closer role. The Marlins want to use him in the middle.

It looks like the Marlins will be going with a low tier reliever. Not saying it won’t work out, but it’d be nice to sign a trustworthy closer considering there wasn’t a set in stone closer last year for the Marlins.

Your expectations are too high. We weren't going to sign anyone of note.
