January 10, 200422 yr The Mets need another starter. It matters if they want to rebuild or make a half assed team. With some amazing prospects on the way, it might pay to be patient for one more season. However if the Mets do get Guerrerro, here's how I see their lineup: Matsui S Phillips R Guerrerro R Floyd L Piazza R Reyes S Cameron R Wiggington R Not the best R-L matchup, but look how the marlins won the world series. If the mets are going to spend like idiots, what's stopping them from getting Urbina, Maddux, and Maels Rodriguez? Of course, I want none of this. Maybe urbina.

January 10, 200422 yr phillips has a way better on base percentage. furthermore, you need to avoid having 4 righties in a row if possible.

January 10, 200422 yr Author Now that were in the subject of the NL east.. are teh expos a contender without vlad?? They got N Johnson, everett and bautista to replace vazquez and vlad.. Can they compete?? Possible lineup Wilkerson Cabrera Vidro Bautista Everett Johnson Chavez, rivera.. Hernendez Armas Vargas Ohka Day I know they probably not gona make the playoffs but theyre still gona make it harder for nl east oppenents...
January 10, 200422 yr They have spent and spent and spent and are still nowhere near the Braves or even the Phillies. They ALWAYS find a way to mess these things up and wouldn't surprise me if it happend again.

January 10, 200422 yr Hey, they're nowhere near the Marlins either! Sheesh, y'all act like we're nothing compared to the Braves/Phillies... and we kicked both of their asses this year!
January 10, 200422 yr I think the East will be a 4 teamer this year... that would be fun pretty much was last year
January 10, 200422 yr I think the East will be a 4 teamer this year... that would be fun pretty much was last year no it wasnt it was a runaway by the Braves
January 10, 200422 yr I think the East will be a 4 teamer this year... that would be fun pretty much was last year no it wasnt it was a runaway by the Braves sure, but the phillies, marlins and 'spos were all within 1 game of eachother for the wild card lead IN september
January 10, 200422 yr I dunno i read this rotoworld post... A Mets employee told Newsday's Jon Heyman that the Vladimir Guerrero signing is "80 percent done." The Orioles still figure to increase their offer to Guerrero again, so Mets fans shouldn't get too excited just yet. Still, it's looking more and more likely that Guerrero will end up in New York. If it happens, the Orioles could then sign Ivan Rodriguez to split time with Javy Lopez between the catcher and DH spots. And i read that other vlad post, so it seems like the mets have a great chance to sign him, better than the marlins do. A Mets employee told Newsday's enough saidAnd the Marlins have not been talking to/or made an offer to Vlad. Yeah, right. Dont always believe what you read - the Muts ARE NOT getting Vlad.
