Posted January 10, 200421 yr If the mets get vlad, that might make the mets as good as the marlins if they get a little pitching. Some thing like this lienup is pretty scary.... Matui Reyes Piazza Vlad Floyd Cameron Phillips Wigginton Plus with veteran pitching.. Glavine, lieter (15 wins), trachsel(16 wins) And a little bullpen help with loop, and weathers, strickland, stanton this team has what it takes, we'll see if they another bust again next year. But theyre a serious threat. Along with atlanta and philadelphia and i think the expos.
January 10, 200421 yr obviously, you havent visited this site in a while- the mets aren't getting vlad
January 10, 200421 yr obviously, you havent visited this site in a while- the mets aren't getting vlad i wouldn't quite say that but i wouldn't assume that the mets would get him either
January 10, 200421 yr If he doesn't sign with us (god forbid) then it better not be the Mets. Losing Vlad to the Mets would be pretty embarrassing. But yeah, if Vlad's not coming here, he better stay out of the NL East!!
January 10, 200421 yr Author I dunno i read this rotoworld post... A Mets employee told Newsday's Jon Heyman that the Vladimir Guerrero signing is "80 percent done." The Orioles still figure to increase their offer to Guerrero again, so Mets fans shouldn't get too excited just yet. Still, it's looking more and more likely that Guerrero will end up in New York. If it happens, the Orioles could then sign Ivan Rodriguez to split time with Javy Lopez between the catcher and DH spots. And i read that other vlad post, so it seems like the mets have a great chance to sign him, better than the marlins do.

January 10, 200421 yr The Mets will be as bad as last year. Cameron is a bad contact hitter, K. Matsui is unproven, Phillips and Wigginton suck, and Piazza may miss more time with injuries. Additionally, the Mets' starting pitchers aren't much to look at, since their top three guys are old and injury-prone.

How can they possibly be bad than last year Cameron > Cedeno Vlad > Raul Gonzalez Matui > Sanchez Reyes > Alomar--how can u reely be worse
January 10, 200421 yr How can they possibly be bad than last year they will be as bad as last year but not "bad than last year"
January 10, 200421 yr Author By the way wigginton sucks---71 ribbies as a rookie is very solid, and what did phillips do wrong?? he was in the ROY running, phillips did great last year
January 10, 200421 yr How can they possibly be bad than last year time- it makes people older. And of course, everyone will miss mo vaughn :plain
January 10, 200421 yr Author http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=6721 Phillips--- sucks huh? especial for a rook
January 10, 200421 yr Author People also get better by agWho has grown worse with age this year?? the only older player in the lineup is maybe piazza. But the rotation is a little old.. but its glavine and lieter. But if glavine bounces back and lieter plays as he always does.. how can you tell me this team gets any worse than 95 losses?

January 10, 200421 yr we all know the Mets will have a good offense.... but they could use some pitching

January 10, 200421 yr they need a little luck, a few diets, a catcher that can throw someone out, a new city, a new barber for the clubhouse and a lot of pitching

They have two 15 game winner from last year, a cy young pitcher as theyre ace .. and dont expect another 14 loss season for glavine.. sao looks akay and if they get someone else for the 5th spot, which is a little pitching theyre ok, beacuse theyre bullpen isnt horrible at all.
