January 13, 200422 yr though a part of me would love to have him back, particularly because he was so good last season, i realize it's probably not worth it for $6M and a prospect. to tell you the truth, i would have rather we had just kept redman. "what golf clubs?" Amen about Redman...I dont know why we felt the need to trade him when we are sitting about $8M under budget now (because we did expect to make a big signing, in my opinion...Vlad...). His 190IP are going to be hard to replace...and he was relatively cheap.
January 13, 200422 yr According to rotoworld, the Expos would consider trading Livan Hernandez. While he may not be the greatest pitcher around, all those people who seem to think we're in on the Maddux sweepstakes should look at Livan too. He is an absolute work-horse, which is good because it eases the pressure on AJ to return because we know that Livan'll probably stay healthy, and Livan is still a "local hero" with the fans. Bringing him back would only be a 1 year commitment (1 year $6 million), and it would be a nice story for the local media. Not very likely, but a nice thought to toss around... :mischief2 IMO, Livan > Maddux at this point of their careers livan has yet to put 2 back to back good season up. hes always on and off every other yyr.
January 14, 200422 yr You know what you're going to get from Maddux year in, and year out. He's consistent. Livan is back and forth. He could be 11-5 just as easily as he could be 5-11.
January 14, 200422 yr good ass crack sounds a little frutay :whistle only a true panzy like yourself would take things out of context
