For some reason i am interested in what tampa is doin this offseason, today they resigned jarod sandburg, signed al reyes carlos reyes, mitch mulusky, Todd jones and what i think was big fernando tatis, if he can get back on track he can be a good starting 3b, maybe win the job over blum.

yea and all of those are minor league contracts suprisingly. The list looks a lot better than the Reds who I saw yesterday did the same thing (signing ppl. to minor league deals and inviting them to ST) The Reds had a buncha ppl id never heard of.

Tatis not to long ago (99) had a 30 homer 100 rbi season, if hes healthy hes only 28, a complete infield for the rays, and a good team in my oppinion.

in other similar news Rotoworld says that the Rockies signed former Marlin Vladimir Nunez to a minor league deal and invited him to spring training

of those 7 players the D-Rays signed, at least 1 or 2 should come through and pan out...that's the exact kind of thing a tema in their position needs to do.

and being a Reds fan, i really like what Dan O'Brien has done so far. i didn't know anything about the players he signed, i then went and checked all their minor league stats, and scouting reports for those availble, and i must say, i'm rather impressed with several of those signings, and am somewhat amazed other teams didn't pick up on them.

more moves, mike williams signs with tampa bay...

the al east has had a great offseason...unlike the nl west.

I wonder whose going to close in Tampa?

Williams, Baez, Carter?

No matter which one they choose, the beack end of Tampa's bullpen is pretty damn solid.

And I actually see Tatis starting third at some point in the season.

I see him rebounding from his injury-prone ways and becoming a very good starter in the near future.

No matter which one they choose, the beack end of Tampa's bullpen is pretty damn solid. I think Baez will be the closer at least at the start of the season because he is the one with the guranteed contract unlike Mike Williams. They expect Carter to be the primary set up man for Baez.

I hope not.
