very nice move! what an awesome bat to have on the bench for $600k. he's a nice utility OF/1B who could very well displace choi for a starting spot, or he could contribute in a 1B platoon. he's good enough to start and will provide great injury insurance for four different starters.

our bench so far looks like this:

1. mordecai

2. redmond

3. banks

4. cordero/choi (one of them)

and we get to let nunez, williams, easley, harris, and all the other invitees duke it out during spring training. at the very least, our bench shouldn't be worse than last year's.

I think Harris has a spot on the bench already, IMO, Williams, Nunez and Easley are playing for the final spot.

lenny was signed to a minor league contract, but yeah, it looks like we'll have a few vets fighting to make it to the bench.

Very nice addition to the bench. He has some power and can compete in the first base position with choi.

We needed that extra guy in the Bench, very nice.

real solid move by the front office.

Cordero crushed lefthanded pitching last year. :thumbup

over 130 games for the Expos he put up very respectable numbers as a starter. that's a fabulous insurance policy at 1B right there.

Good acquisition, I have a feeling he'll eventually end up starting at First base.
