May 6, 200323 yr Credit: MLB.com 05/04/2003 11:46 AM ET Notes: Encarnacion latest injury Marlins outfielder has right forearm contusion By Gene Duffey / MLB.com HOUSTON -- Florida outfielder Juan Encarnacion was not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against Houston after suffering a right forearm contusion in Saturday night's game. Brian Banks replaced him in the starting lineup Sunday. Encarnacion was struck by a pitch from Astros right-hander Tim Redding while swinging and missing for strike three in the fourth inning. "It sounded like it hit the bat from where we were," manager Jeff Torborg said. "I guess it was bone." Encarnacion, who is hitting .264, played the rest of the game. He flied out to center in the sixth inning and reached base with an infield single in the eighth. "These things hurt and these guys play through the hurt," Torborg said. "Then the next day you're really hurting. He's tough. He doesn't say much." Torborg said Encarnacion will have the arm X-rayed. "I have no idea (how bad it is)," Torborg said. "You never know with something like that. He took a shot."
