uh, they're not. the point of LAWS is so people don't harm other people. Gays getting married doesn't harm other people. thus it should be legal.

 

Your religion is wrong anyway, don't impose it on me. Laws go beyond just harming people.

You said it was natural to be gay in other thread right?According evolution, animals are genetically coded to reproduce and only the fittest survivee(Look into natural selection).Animals are attracted to their female counterparts in order to reproduce.

I don't think we do. Our population grows because of immigration. So if we ever had a "population problem" there's plenty of people yearning to breath free.

Minus, if what should allowed is not what an individual feels but what nature dicates they should do to perpetuate society, should we force those who have no desire to procreate to do so? Or better yet, why not just let horny people have sex all they want and not make them feel bad about it? Isnt that what our raw nature is? Perpuation of the species is not what we are obligated to do. We are rational beings who have moved past that and now know that basic tenants of happiness are important.

 

 

I agree that the majority is born with a desire to be with the opposite sex. But that desire is natural in you. Why cant it be so natural in others? I allow what people feel to be natural as long as it does not cause harm. Two people of the same sex causes no harm. Nobody has ever been able to show that it does. Ive already pointed out why the "perpetuation of the human race" argument is foolish and that I know you dont really accept it. So the only argument you have is that homosexuality is harmful. Why is it that a person who is good, kind, and giving and only desires the basic notion of companship should be shunned for this? The only harm you can say is that it hurts children and families.

 

 

Families: How is this so? Shouldnt the goodness in a person's heart be the greatest affect on families? Many gay couples believe in everything you and I do. Do unto others. Be kind to others. Work hard. These are the values important to families.

 

Children will become gay perhaps. This is the worse argument. If being gay is "taught" to others, then why is it that a person realizes he is gay despite being raised in a conservative, working class family. Where is the gay influence here? Its also the reverse that gay families raise kids who turn out to be attracted to the other sex. Many conservative families forbid the interaction of children of the opposite sex. They dont allow dating or anything. But the internal nature always comes through. They always desire the opposite sex. The same would be for a gay couple. I truly believe that even if they wanted to force their kids to be gay, they would fail.

 

 

Perhaps if we allow everything people feel as natural, then child molestors and others will allow fight for their rights. No because these people break the line between harmless and harmful activity. Children should never be allowed to be affected and their innonence should be preserved. This is the case of heterosexual and homosexual pedophelia. That is harmful. Two grown humans isnt harmful.

All I know is that here in Ohio they call if the "Defense of Marriage Act" to outlaw homosexual marriages.

 

I'm glad they're "defending" it from homosexuals. Because, of course, 2 men being married is a bigger blow to the sanctity of marriage than the woman down the street who's beem married 8 times or this blessed event being given away as a prize on a game show.

 

I don't care who gets married to whom, not allowing 2 gay men or 2 gay women who are in love to marry when we allow 2 people that met each other on a game show to marry is so beyond stupid that I can't really put it into words.

 

For such a "free" country, we sure like to stick our nose in other people's business. Like 2 guys you've never met in your life being married effects you in any actual way.

A freedom allowed in this country is freedom of religion, which means that within the bounds of law a person is able to worship and believe whatever they want, including anything that is anti-gay. Unfortunately even speaking ill of someone because of race is protected by the 1st amendment as well. The government should not control what people believe, their morals, nor should they take away people's money and allocate it into different programs that do not concern the person who is working hard for that money.

People are entitled to say anything they want, and I don't take it for granted like some people, though I'm sure many think I should. Nonetheless, I'm not going to go to your house and throw you in prison for no believing what I believe, and if the government does that, that is BS.
