February 14, 200422 yr IS "TEN COMMANDMENTS JUDGE" CONSIDERING WHITE HOUSE RUN? Removed Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore appears to be quietly considering a third party run for President in 2004. Moore drew national headlines this summer when he was deposed from office over his defiant refusal to follow a court order that he remove a granite Ten Commandments monument that he had placed in the State Supreme Court building lobby. According to several sources, Moore -- currently a Republican -- is considering an offer from the Constitution Party that he run as their nominee for President this year. When recently asked by one conservative news organization if he was running for President, Moore ambiguously answered "Not right now." Moore is still appealing his removal, but that appeal is expected to be done fairly soon. "Anything is possible. However, until the appeal process has been run through, he'll make no decision for political office," said Moore's spokesperson. Conservative attorney Mike Peroutka is the CP's designated "provisional nominee," subject to ratification at this summer's national convention. However, Peroutka has stated he would step aside if the party could recruit a big name candidate. Moore is reportedly watching to see how the GOP and President Bush handle the current gay marriage issue before making his decision on the race. Moore is no moderate on the gay issue. ?Homosexuality is an act so heinous that it defies one?s ability to describe it. The State carries the power of the sword, that is, the power to prohibit conduct with physical penalties, such as confinement and even execution," wrote Moore in a 2002 court ruling. The Constitution Party is expected to obtain ballot status in about 40 states. This could possibly take a bunch of ultra-conservative Nazi votes from Bush and give them to this psycho. That quote is just hilarious and describes almost every non-college christian I know. People like this make me ashamed to be a Southerner and a human being.
February 14, 200422 yr My God! and this man considers himself a Christian? What an un-Christian thing to say. I am Catholic but I refuse to allow the church to mix with politics. It is ridiculous for our country to judge other countries that have a Theocracy, when ours is leaning heavily towards it.
February 14, 200422 yr ?Homosexuality is an act so heinous that it defies one?s ability to describe it. The State carries the power of the sword, that is, the power to prohibit." I agree with his view until he got to the part about executing them but I STRONGLY oppose gay marriages.

Do you support using governemnt to impose your beliefs on others? This point seems so incredibly obvious to me. :confused

I don't see how is natural for gay couple to marry.Just look around nature and how animals are attracted to their female counterparts. How is it morally right for a gays to get married?Go back o the origin of marriage and the meaning behind it.Is not normal to be gay and no one is born gay.I really have nothing against gay people but is not the kind message that I would to like to sent to rest of children.
February 14, 200422 yr Author Im perfectly fine with the fact that YOU personally are a bigot, but please dont use government to force those views on others. If people derive pleasure from such a relationship who are you or I to determine whether its natural or not? Actually, Im tired of this already, if you people want to force yourselves on millions of other people because you think its what god wants then go right ahead. ugh.
February 14, 200422 yr its not up to government to determine morals. So why is ok for goverment to setup laws? Why is ok for Goverment to determine what right or wrong on other issues? Shouldn't it up to individual persons to consier what wrong or right? Why even bother having an authority if is not right for others to judge what wrong or right?

What makes me a bigger bigot than you? What makes you believe you're right and I'm wrong?I never sai I was right and you were wrong.I respect your views why don't you respect mines without degrading yourself by dissing my religious believes. Im tired of this already, if you people want to force yourselves on millions of other people because you think its what god wants then go right ahead.? ugh. and you called me a bigot!
February 14, 200422 yr BTW Is not ok to Goverment to force my believes to other but why is it ok for gays to force their believes to the rest who feel like me?
February 14, 200422 yr morals and laws are not exactly the same thing. you enact laws in order to keep society from stumbling into chaos. morality is an independent issue. the issue of homosexuality is one that should be left out of government.
February 14, 200422 yr morals and laws are not exactly the same thing. you enact laws in order to keep society from stumbling into chaos. morality is an independent issue. the issue of homosexuality is one that should be left out of government. Morals 1. involving right and wrong: relating to issues of right and wrong and to how individuals should behave. Isn't that principle behind laws?
February 14, 200422 yr thats an aspect of morality. still the issue of sexuality is wholly independent from what the government should be setting forth in terms of policy.
February 14, 200422 yr If you're Atheist: So what are the standard behind what wrong or right? What makes gay marriage right and paying for sex wrong? I really disagree that laws and morals don't go hand in hand because after all it relates to issues of right and wrong and to how individuals should behave.
February 14, 200422 yr what standard then do you use for what form or morality should be followed and accepted for the law of the land?
February 14, 200422 yr what standard then do you use for what form or morality should be followed and accepted for the law of the land? Why don't we take a look back at American constitution and what were the standard they use?Isn't it safe to say it derived from personal conscience by the people involve in drafting of the constitution?
February 14, 200422 yr it derived in large part from Christian ideals...... I was talking about mainly on how Goverment should be setup and work but you're right alot of laws are base on the ten commandments which lead directly to the point I want to get accross. What standards should Atheist person use in order to determine what wrong or right? Based on personal conscience of an idividual or group of individuals?
February 14, 200422 yr well the only way to determine right or wrong for them would have to be in the code of laws. but since we have essentially established that the codes of this nation at least are rooted to an extent in Christianity.... it creates a pandora's box of sorts. look back to Hammuribi(sp) code. Which originated I believe in ancient Sumeria and was the first known set of laws for a civilization.
February 14, 200422 yr BTW Is not ok to Goverment to force my believes to other but why is it ok for gays to force their believes to the rest who feel like me? uh, they're not. the point of LAWS is so people don't harm other people. Gays getting married doesn't harm other people. thus it should be legal. Your religion is wrong anyway, don't impose it on me.
