May 11, 200323 yr Mike Lowell is on pace to hit 40 HRs.. but check out his avg. (career wise).. Pre All-Star: .285 Post All-Star .266 Oh yea.. and last year says it all: 2002 Pre All-Star: .311 Post All-Star .232 After the ASB he'll fall off the charts..
May 11, 200323 yr True, but take away Floyd and Lowell struggled. Unless the Marlins figure out a way to trade Pudge, it looks like Lowell has enough protection in the lineup to continue to develop. I hope he does stay on pace for those numbers, so I can go back to all those who would take Rolen over Lowell and say, "nah..nah..nahnah nah...".

Lowell's rarely injured, he's an excellent defensive player, a great clubhouse guy, rarely goes into prolonged slumps, and you can pencil him in for around 25 homers and 90+ RBIs. Moreover, he tends to come through in some big spots, unlike certain other players. If that's not worth 4 million then I don't know what is.
