Today's opponent: New York Mets at White Stadium, Port St. Lucie, 1:10 p.m.

 

Radio: WQAM (560-AM).

 

Ptching plans: LHP Darren Oliver will make his second Grapefruit League appearance (first start). LHP Al Leiter will start for the Mets. Other Marlins scheduled to pitch: RHP Justin Wayne, LHP Michael Tejera, RHP Mike Flannery and RHP Nate Bump.

 

Worth noting: Today's meeting is the first of six this spring against the Mets. ... Oliver's first outing was in relief of RHP Brad Penny on Friday against the Orioles. He tossed three shutout innings, walking two and allowing two hits. ... Former Marlins closer Braden Looper is scheduled to pitch against his former club this afternoon. ... 3B Jason Wood and 2B Derek Wathan each went 3 for 3 during a Marlins intrasquad game Monday. OF Brian Banks, SS Wilson Valdez, C Dennis Anderson, SS Josh Wilson, 1B Felipe Crespo, C Josh Willingham and 2B Kevin Hooper also had multi-hit games. RHP David Manning and RHP Ronald Belisario each tossed two innings without allowing an earned run. ... OF Armando Rios hit the game's lone homer off LHP Cedrick Bowers.
