  1. He would be a very solid addition for a low price. Low risk, high reward.
  2. Is that not exactly what you are doing?
  3. You don't ask for specific names from multiple teams when you have no intention of shopping him. Ive never said they have every intention of trading him, but you've consistently denied that they have any intention of trading him because of Mish's "rogue" report when no one else was reporting it. Now lots of other guys are reporting it and giving details of who exactly he is when he isn't in front of the camera. For you to consistently deny the truth in any of it is pretty ignorant. Be honest with yourself, if the marlins were open to the idea of trading Jose, would your source tell you that? Hell no. Why would anyone in the marlins front office admit that unless they were about to close a deal. That and Mish remains adamant that something will happen. Im not all over Mish but you and I both know he is connected to people in the Marlins organization. Why are the Marlins the only one who have rumors about their top guys and have teams calling and names coming out who the marlins have asked for. Nobody seems to be calling the Angels for Trout or the Nats for Harper with names of potential trade partners coming out. Never have I once said the Marlins are going to trade him, but my problem all along has been you completely discounting Mish's report because your source says something different than his. What makes your source anymore right than his? At not time would any marlins front office source come out before they have anything close to a deal and say "yeah, we are looking to trade Jose for XYZ reason." It makes no sense to do so from a fan perspective, negotiating perspective, and team perspective.
  4. Seeger, Urias, Peterson, and their next best pitching prospect and you can't turn that down.
  5. Theres nothing in his makeup except for his success at every level he's been in.
  6. Conley has the potential to be good as does nicolino despite the lack of strikeouts. Ian Kennedy at 15 million Ina horrible use of our limited assets. He is an average pitcher who appears to be volatile in his consistency. Not worth 15 million for the lowest payroll in baseball at all.
  7. I'd rather go with our young guys and figure out if they stink with a cheap backup plans than sign Kennedy for 15 mill a year. Would we be better with Kennedy? Probably. But we need to be efficient with our money and spending 15 mill on a pitcher we know to be ok-above average and nothing more is not an efficient use of our money.
  8. We are not a contender whether we trade him or keep him. We just don't have the money to spend to make that happen.
  9. Were not gonna be a contender next year no matter what. We are not spending on the rotation and realistically we can't compete next year. IF we can completely revitalize the farm system and get the #2 and #4 prospect in all of baseball plus more. you gotta do it.
  10. Long term I have heard he is a 3b. Dodges really match up well with us for a deal
  11. Seager, Urias, Pederson, and another top pitching prospect for Jose and Prado. Trade Ozuna for a starter and sign another one. End offseason. Id be happy with that.
  12. Continuing the Mish thing, he now has pinned his original Jose tweet on his twitter page. Im willing to bet he has good confidence in his statement.
  13. At the very least the marlins aren't selling guys off this offseason for below market value. All indications are they keep asking for a lot for Jose and Ozuna
  14. I love Jose and think he is one of the top 3 pitchers in baseball when he is healthy, but if you can get a deal like Seager, Urias, and Pederson as well as another starting pitching good prospect for Prado and Fernandez, you take it and run. As much as we would love to spend money as fans on 2-3 starters behind Jose and a replacement for Ozuna, we are not gonna do it, and without that we are not going to compete. I am as big a marlins fan and homer as possible, but this team just doesnt compete with the playoff teams in the league. On paper we can be good, of course, but this team never performs to its abilities on paper. No team does. The difference is the best teams in the league replace guys like Matt Holliday when they are injured with former first rounders and good backups while we replace them with Mathis and Solano. Im all for trading Jose if we are convinced he will not sign here and we can get a haul like that.
  15. He literally has the same type of information as you. One source. Im not saying either one of you are right or wrong. That will play itself out. Im saying for you to act like he is making stuff up is stupid. Everyone gets burned by a source if you have them and for you to take your sources word at 100% to me is not smart. You can disagree if you want but that is my opinion. If Jose was on the market, they would say the exact same thing as they would if he wasn't on the market. It makes no sense for this franchise to say ya, he's available. That would be a blow to fans if they don't trade him as well as their potential return if they do. David Samson says the same thing every time someone is on the block. "He's not being shopped but we will take an offer that blows us away." It is the most simple strategy to blow off this report. It is literally saying nothing. Almost no player is ever available unless that team gets an offer that blows them away. Why else would you make a trade? You're not gonna make a deal to stay the same or get worse. It literally is saying nothing. Your contention when Mish came out with his story was that he had no information and that he was just spit balling because no one else had any information that he had. Now more and more reports are coming out about him potentialy being involved in deals and his dealings with the team when he isn't in front of cameras. I don't think they will end up trading him, but there is certainly smoke and when there is smoke there is fire. I just wanted to end this with a cliche.
  16. There was no talk according to your source. Like I said when it happened and everyone denied, why wouldn't they deny it and why would they confirm what he said in any ways. There are so many reasons why it would be a nightmare to admit you are shopping him. For or you to continue to act like mish had no knowledge of anything is pretty ridiculous. Your reasoning for last time was that he shouldn't be believed because no one else was running with the story. They may not be shopping for him but he's no off limits by any means. There is truth behind all of this. there are other credible people with knowledge within the organization who are confirming that Fernandez actions in front of the camera are not what they are when the camera is off. Even lebatard has said the Marlins are very concerned about Fernandez off field stuff just because of how different his life is gonna be considering he went from no freedom in Cuba to about to have all the money in the world in america
  17. With that being said, I would trade him for Seager, Pederson, and their top pitching prospect in an 1/8th of a second.
  18. Like I said when he came out with his article,. Mish doesn't make shit up. There is truth behind his statement whether you guys want to admit it or not

    Napoli

I think we have enough versatility to where we can get him in the lineup everyday some how between him playing first and catcher every once in a while and then other guys moving around too. His bat is such a good fit behind Stanton if he produces like his past suggests he can

    Napoli

Would be a perfect addition for the lineup. This is the kind of bat I think we need
  21. I want to trade ozuna for a top of the rotation guys, sign another starter and sign a guy to replace ozuna.
  22. This reminds me of when Magic Johnson became a coach and was super frustrated that guys couldn't play like him. Why isn't solano hitting bombs I taught him everything I know?!?!?
  23. Tommy Hutton was the ultimate professional. Did he blow up and get angry? Yes. Did those situations deserve it? Yes. He was a local broadcaster that travels with a team, not a guy like Joe Buck or Harold Reynolds that do one game a week. He is allowed to show favoritism and get angry when things don't go well for the marlins. Do you know how many times any person would blow up if they had to follow the joke of a franchise called the marlins on a daily basis for 19 years? Do you know how every single season seemingly for the past 10 years when we're out of it in September and most of us either just get the score when the game is over or watch very little of the games? This guy had to watch every pitch of every loser season of this joke of a franchise. No shit he is not going to act professional sometimes, he wasn't broadcasting for a professional team, he was broadcasting for the marlins.
