I see some teams are looking hard at trading for a closer.  I read Houston in particular is really looking for options.  With Brian Ellington, Carter Capps, Baraclaugh, and Morris in the mix should the Marlins sell high on Ramos, especially considering how weak our farm system is.  Even, Koehler could be an option for us in the late innings should we add two starters.

 

Also, what would be a fair return from the Astros if we do deal with them?  Thoughts

 

 

As nice as those other relievers seem to be as potential replacements for Ramos, I wouldn't trade Ramos without adding at least one more legitimate piece to the pen. I don't mean overpaying for a Chapman type either.

IMO we'd be stupid not to trade Ramos.  Hell id even part with Capps if he could net us a really good prospect.  We need to stop overvaluing our relievers and holding on to them to long.

 

 

Trading Ramos would be giving up somebody at the peak of there value. We need to wait until Ramos has back to back all star seasons followed by a horrible 15 inning stretch before trading him for spare parts.

I'd be fine with keeping Capps but I think his gimmick delivery has a great chance to be made either illegal or figured out so I was talking about selling high.  

 

Also at what point in this front offices regime have they ever cared about something like trading stantons friend?  This is the last organization that would do that

the thing is his pitches are also really good (fastball still 100+ w life, and slider movement is one of the best in baseball) on their own so not sure how even figuring out his delivery would help batters. My biggest concerns are his injuries which may in fact be increased because of said delivery... I doubt baseball does anything about it.

I wouldn't be so sure about baseball leaving it alone.  His delivery so clearly gives him an unfair advantage compared to other pitchers but we will see.

it's such a slippery slope because so many pitchers drag their foot to some degree (obviously not to degree capps does). Not to mention MLB aready said its piece last year. Even w/o the delivery I still think Capps would be a fine RP

 

 

They need to rule on his delivery ASAP so we can move out of this discussion.

i'm all for Ramos being moved.  I felt he slipped a little as the season went on so please trade him while he has good value.  I fully expect this means they will hang onto Ramos since he has good value right now and move Ozuna at his very lowest value (along with Dietrich because...well...we want to eliminate all possible candidates who would impede Ichiro from suiting up every day once Ozuna is moved)
