1. On the radio postgame they interviewed Cishek. He admitted that the two strikes he pitched in the zone were meant to be outside, but he missed the mark in exactly the way St. Claire told him not to. The catcher was set up outside, as the directive was to pitch around him and hope he might chase. He felt really lucky that Melky didn't swing at either of them. I think this win had a lot to do with poor play by the Giants. They stranded a lot of runners. Great job by Jennings! He looked good.
2. Probably would be higher if Lowell did not have to hit 891803 I'm not convinced that Lowell's shot down the line yesterday wasn't fair. Would have been a base clearer.
3. Help me Lord. Jack doesn't swing the bats, Jack doesn't make the plays, the Marlins (players) had numerous opportunities to contribute but didn't. These kinds of threads do nothing to enhance the perception that this is a legitimate website for serious baseball discussion. Sheesh. 754526 Just so you understand, when I commented on swinging for the fences, I wasn't saying that was a Jack issue..
4. I think the real problem is that everyone was swinging for the fences with players on base. Especially on a windy day when nothing was leaving the park for either team. A couple of bloop singles would have won the game.
5. Last month there was a game with donuts *and* pizza. I was wondering how that works? When I got the free pizza, they took my stub away!
6. Who are the pitchers in August and September for the free Papa John's pizza?
