May 26, 201214 yr Marlins even up the series with the Giants thanks to some big blasts! W: Jennings (1-0) L: Lincecum (2-5) S: Cishek (1) 2B: Infante (11) HR: Coghlan (1); Stanton (11) SB: Stanton (2); Reyes (14)
May 26, 201214 yr Heath Bell has blown 6 saves this year, as far as I'm concerned. What's it going to take to get him out of the closer's role? He absolutely sucks now. Hitters don't miss his fastball and they don't chase his breaking ball. No need to be stupid and stay loyal because you gave him a bad contract. Either go with Cishek or go with a committee (we have the arms to do this).
May 26, 201214 yr Cishek The force was not with Stanton today. The homerun thing is hardly scratched and still standing.
May 26, 201214 yr here's hoping CC finds his swing, we are a better team overall if he can get close to his 09 form
May 26, 201214 yr I think the location was not good for Bell's performance, not speed of pitched ball. he has to attack the zone of down and low.
May 26, 201214 yr To me I think Stanton is FOTG. He basically started that rally in 7th with the hit, then stole the base. You just had the feeling that motherf***er didn't want to lose tonight. Especially after the HR.
May 26, 201214 yr I'm really sick of Steve cishek having to come in and save bell's fat ass. Huge hit from Coghlan and a great comeback. Josh once again had flat stuff and just doesn't have the same electricity. Dont know if he'll get it back.
May 26, 201214 yr To me I think Stanton is FOTG. He basically started that rally in 7th with the hit, then stole the base. You just had the feeling that motherf***er didn't want to lose tonight. Especially after the HR. I'm guessing none of them wanted to lose tonight.
May 26, 201214 yr Great to see Stanton swinging it so well. He needs to be in the AS game and derby. JJ is still a concern. Leaving so many pitches up. Seems to never come inside to hitters.
May 26, 201214 yr FOTG goes to Coghlan since he gave us the lead and he's so bad that he might not get it again this year.
May 26, 201214 yr (Again, I'm not CC fan.) Despite CC's 3-run homer, I hope he keep his own rhythm like 2009 ROY. Tonight homer will help to keep his confidence.
May 26, 201214 yr Shutdowns/meltdowns are way better than saves/holds. Coming into the night, Bell had 6 shutdowns to 6 meltdowns. Tonight was his 7th meltdown. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=2080&position=P#winprobability Under SD/MD. Amazing how much worse he's gotten. His peripherals had gotten worse last year, but this year he's just downright terrible.
May 26, 201214 yr Author I didn't see JJ pitch, but I still think he's going to be fine. The Giants apparently have the greatest hitters ever against us with Blanco and Melky Cabrera.
May 26, 201214 yr Author Btw, the Marlins are 17-8 since I introduced Rally Elmo/Rally Elmo-Dog. YOU'RE WELCOME.
May 26, 201214 yr Bell is definitely a concern. This game was against a team he's pretty used to seeing and he couldn't get through it.
