August 7, 200520 yr For those who didn't see the stat during the telecast. The stat for average with the bases loaded has been kept since 1977. The 2005 Marlins have the highest average EVER in that time.
August 7, 200520 yr That's funny, the stats say otherwise...not sure if this includes tonight's appearance or not, but this says he's batting .500 in those situations this year...that's pretty good, especially since he (along with Enc) has had the most chances with the bases juiced. http://florida.marlins.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/...mit&timeFrame=1

Don't confuse them with the facts zz. There hate knows no bounds and their frustrations need to vent.
August 7, 200520 yr Another reason why games aren't played on paper. :whistle 891873 Oh, I agree...but on two different topics, people are making Lowell to be worthless with the bases juiced, when it's been obvious that he's been one of the team's best hitters this year in that situation (and as stated at the beginning of the thread, the team as a whole is doing great in that situation, so Lowell being near the top of that list is indeed impressive).
August 7, 200520 yr we've never been too good with RISP though. That reminds me of D.Lee back in our days and Mike Lowell these days.
August 7, 200520 yr Such small sample size. A week from now we could be below major league average. we've never been too good with RISP though. That reminds me of D.Lee back in our days and Mike Lowell these days. 891912 We were freaking leading the league in hitting with RISP in the middle of our slump. Shut up! We are 6th right now, behind such teams as the Devil Rays and Giants. (Sorry, it's just so many - even those that think with their mind as well as their heart - have said this over and over and over again)
August 7, 200520 yr When people see Marlins batters fail to get a hit more than half of the time with RISP, they start saying the Marlins aren't clutch and things like that, forgetting that a good baseball player fails 7 times out of 10 (with or without runners in scoring position)...and because almost everyone here sees the Marlins more than any other team, they just assume the Marlins 'choke' more than others when in fact, the Fish aren't very different than any other team in that respect.
August 7, 200520 yr Probably would be higher if Lowell did not have to hit 891803 I'm not convinced that Lowell's shot down the line yesterday wasn't fair. Would have been a base clearer.
August 7, 200520 yr I think Dogfish was joking And, well, we'll just have to load the bases more often then.
