6/24 Post Game
EB beats Cody, COME ON! EB was actually out on his 1 hit. He committed another error today. All he did today was display the one strong quality he has, though the run he scored was crucial giving us a 2-run lead at the time. Cody gets 3 hits, 2 RBIs. One could have been a triple and another RBI if it didn't leave the park. His 8th single came on an 0-2 pitch after being hosed by the Ump on the first 2 pitches. **Just saw L. Ayala was DFA, we should put a claim for him.

I don't know about you, but my belt isn't anywhere close to 2.5 feet off the ground. LOL, I didn't notice the headings on the side. So, the top of the zone must be just over the belt. Well, his pitches must have been more impressive than what I saw. I still think his stats of late are superseding his actual performance.

I voted for Miller as well but, I'd like to put things in perspective. I hate to take anything away from a 1 hit performance. The main thing plaguing Miller early in his career was his control. He has improved that aspect of his game 100% since coming off the DL. Though, the location of his pitches are not impressive. Many of his pitches were up and toward the middle of the plate. He was lucky that most of the balls put in play were not hit square. His fastball is average at best. His slider is erratic and not close to what it was projected to be. His off speed stuff is weak. Even if his repertoire fails to improve and he keeps his control he will prove to be a serviceable SP. If he wants to blossom into the #2/3 SP he was projected to become he still has a lot of work to do. 11 of the balls put in play were in the bottom half of the zone, 6 in the top. So. I wouldn't say pitches between 2.0-2.5 are the bottom of the zone. Those are near belt high pitches. So, I would only count that bottom 1/4 of the zone as quality location. There, he only had 5 balls.

6/21 Postgame
With the bats finally heating up and the SP solid as of late, I really hate Lindstrom closing games. I don't think Nunez is the permanent answer but, he is surely a more consistent option. Lindstrom will prove to be nothing more than middle reliever/boderline setup guy in his career. The next couple weeks I think we will have quite a few save oppt. If we blow even 2 of them it could really hurt the ego of this team. These next couple weeks are crucial if we have a legitimate chance of making a run for the playoffs. The same bats that produced only 8 runs in the 5 games prior to yesterday's game? I'm dating back to the Toronto series and we did face some pretty good pitching between BOS/NY

Who should bat 2nd?
The prototypical 2 hitter on this club is CC. - He has the best eye on the roster. - He has above-avg. speed. - As a lefty he can hit behind the leadoff hitter if he gets on. - He can hit for some power, which I think the Marlins have lacked from many 2 hitters in the past. With the roster as of now I'd put Hermida leadoff (solely based on his ability to see many pitches), though that would never happen and CC 2nd. When Maybin is called up put him 1st with CC 2nd. That could be very nice.

June 18 - Marlins @ Red Sox
The Red Sox will win 90+ games but, the Boston media will complain about this 1 all season.

June 18 - Marlins @ Red Sox
Looks like it might stop raining for good at 12:30am or maybe even 1am. That would be some BS if they restart the game 4 hours later on a traveling day.

June 18 - Marlins @ Red Sox
The UMPs dont have the ballz to call the game. Even with a 3hr+ delay they will resume play

That error may cost Ricky the chance at a CG :banghead

UMPs have been pretty one sided this series. Strike zone inconsistent. The missed interference call yesterday. A couple check swings called strikes.

Good signs from Nolasco so far. Just the one HR to Youkilis. Good otherwise and these next innings will be interesting to see how he does with the Sox going through the lineup for the second time. Though, a lot of his outs are Fly Balls :pray
