Yeah, lets bring up Willis! Fuct it. I'd like to get a few starts from him. If he turns out to be real good we won't give him the money and have to trade him for almost nothing. So lets get a few quality starts from him while he is cheap.

yes, that works out good for him and the Marlins. I think Lowell will be gone by the end of the year. Pudge could play 3B and RED and RAY will play catcher. That way we don't lose much hitting plus, maybe could add a solid starter or LF.

yeah i wished we had 'Juan Gone', more like 'Juan double' Lowell must be batting under .200 w runners in scoring position this year. Must have most runners LOB this season. When he is on put him in the 4th or 5th. When slumping like now 6th spot.

Damn devil rays are on FSN too often. I live up in g-ville so it seems like I only get half the Marlins games. Is it on FSN in the South Florida. Marlins are hitting the ball well thats all we can ask for. The Marlins should be able to get their pitching, especially their bullpen. Go Marlins and keep the streak alive of series wins.

Marlins 6-4. Josh Beckett will be forced to pitch over 100 pitches. Torborg will have a thin bullpen since he will not want to put recently called up RP in a close game. Beckett will have pretty good stuff but, is facing the best lineup in the NL. He will pitch around some of the power in St. Louis lineup. May have 5 BBs. Though, I believe when getting behind in a count sometimes you are better off walking a power hitter than giving up a 2B or a HR. He will probably go 7+ give up 4 runs, 3 earned. Simontacchi will match his performance and then the St. Lou bullpen will lose it. Marlins really need this one.

No, don't trade RED!. 1) I think he has a good relationship with Torborg, who was also an overachieving catcher. 2) I think RED is great chemistry for the team. He works well with are young studs and knows the game very well. 3) I would say Castro would have more trade value. I remember 2 years ago before the 2000 season after we acquired CJ we had a problem at catcher. CJ was going to start, RED had established himself as a good backup, and Castro was long overdue for the majors. (By the way I feel bad for Ramon Castro, the past 3 seasons he could be starting for other teams but, is a 3rd catcher for us) We were looking to trade Castro since there were a few teams interested. I still feel he has good value. A good defensive catcher with above average pop could help out a lot of teams. Also, I believe he is younger than RED. Plus, I think RED could be a great manager for the Marlins in say 15 years.

Hollansworth can't buy a hit. His wife is hot though :o ! If he is batting .260 , 3-4 HRs, 20 RBIs at the All-Star Break a change or at least a platoon must happen. I have noticed last 2 weeks that are starting fielders play everyday. Torborg is asking for trouble (injuries) if he does not get his starters some rest. I wish RED could play another position he is such a good contact hitter.

Yeah would love to see Banks get some more ABs. I hope your right that he begins to get a platoon and start 2 or 3 times a week. I really think Hollandsworth sucks. His best season came in his rookie year and has only came close to matching that one more time in his career. Does not have enough pop for an OF. If Banks could somehow get 300 ABs this season I say he bats .275, 15 2Bs, 3 3Bs, 10 HRs, and 45 RBIs. If Hollandsworth were to get 450 ABs he would not do much better than that.

The Brew Crew's bats have been heating up. I figure Penny or Pavano can shut them down. The other two games will be close and we'll split.

yeah, for some reason the Marlins are reluctant to bring up young talent. A player like G. Williams has no value. What is boils down to is that he is cheap! Plus, supposedly he can produce off the bench and provide some leadership. Well, produce a bit that is a definite NO. Provide leadership, maybe. I was suprised to see Banks make the opening day 25-man roster and given the opportunity to get some ABs. Well, not really since he has only started once. I thought he was young prospect or something. Nope, he started his major league journey in 96'. So he is becoming a journeymen real quick, unless he breaks out one season. So my reasoning for the Marlins having these two guys as backup OFs is COST. Which, it seems like everything boils down to that for the Marlins front office since 98'. If Gerald Williams breaks out somehow and bats .300, 20 HRs, and 80 RBIs he will still have very little value at the age of 37. Even if Brian Banks has a similiar year he will only show a bit more value, since he has never produced and would already be 33. Though, if they bring up a guy like Chad Allen and he puts up those kind of stats. At the age of 28 there will definitely be some intrest. Then, the Marlins are put in a situation where 'they have to put up, or shut up'. I'm sure they would 'shut up'. Another team will give him the contract he deserves and the few Marlins fans that are left are even more disappointed in management of the team. So they're forced to trade players who have a couple good seasons in the show or hot prospects in the minors for mediocre aging talent such as Todd Hollandsworth (30) and Mark Redman (29). This mediocre talent is cheaper and will be cheaper since it is unlikely they will breakout and have All-Star seasons. This will be a neverending cycle :banghead until they are willing to pay their young talent. It is depressing since they have one of the better minor league systems but, so much of their talent goes to other big league clubs.

yes, nunez has looked horrible thus far. Last season early we had bullpen problems. Looper started off horribly and then by the end of the year won the closer job back. Nunez does have decent stuff. He is getting behind hitters and that has been killing him. He probably has the 3rd best stuff in the pen behind spoonybarger and looper. I suggest to give him a few days off. Work him back into meaningless roles (such as games that have already been decided) late in the game. Torborg should have confidence in spoony already. Watched him last season was pretty good. Has been solid so far this season. Should be our definite setup man and even be given some opps to close the game. I believe Nunez will get his control back and be solid by the all-star break. At that time he could be our 3rd man in the pen. Pitching 6th/7th innings. :mischief2
