  1. Not really, because look how much the Marlins did after the holidays last year. It's just an assumption that they'll do nothing.
  2. Then we should make that the official worrying date for this upcoming January.
  3. Also, important to remember that it's not like 29 other teams have made major moves. Sure there are a few headlining teams who have been very active but there's soooo many teams who haven't done much yet... so it's not actually a problem of just the Marlins being quiet.
  4. When did they get Mark Hendrickson in 2008? Because that's always my go-to Marlins addition punchline.
  5. Start worrying end of January but even then a lot can change. Genuinely worry the day pitchers and catchers report because by then the majority of your team should already be in place. Moves during spring training generally are fringe additions and not major reshaping moves. Overall it's ok that they haven't made any big moves yet because it can still be done later but there is the facts of time running out, players coming off the board, etc. Maybe better said, it's not the lack of moves that's the problem, it's the fear that the lack of moves means that no big moves are coming. Because if we could somehow say "Marlins haven't made any big moves yet but it's guaranteed that a big move is coming on January 8th" then you'd be ok because you know it's coming. So it's moreso about fans being nervous that nothing will get done at all.
  6. So this was not a mutual agreement.
  7. All these acquisitions of waiver claims and guys who were DFAd feels like the Marlins are following the plan of Moneyball, no not the generally successful strategies of the book, I'm talking about the scene(s) in the Brad Pitt movie where they specifically target other team's rejects.
  8. Someone's gotta step up and revamp blackout rules sooner rather than later. The whole concept is outdated, it doesn't do what it was intended to do anymore.
  9. This is a good joke. Many won't get it.
  10. Why? Are the Marlins building something that they need a carpenter for?
  11. I get all my offseason news from @rmc523
  12. Looks like your fingers might be the problem. (That's something I've never said before)
  13. They probably haven't even spent any money on lunch.
  14. Normally I'm like the last one to complain but holy shit it feels even quieter than normal lately.
  15. Yea but do you identify as one?
  16. Please stop badgering the rest of us.
  17. Yea I had to read it like 3 times to realize it because something was off in the wording. They were talking about it from the Royals perspective then suddenly brought up what I thought was Bruce Sherman and then I was like wait what the hell?
  18. Royals owner has the last name Sherman too, I think he was talking about that guy, not Bruce.
  19. I get the idea of trading high on a starter if it brings back multiple major leaguers but our starting pitching depth is already shot and now we'd deplete it even further? Last year when we traded Pablo we had a depth plan in place and then added in Cueto as well. We don't have that now.
