  1. They officially get Lee. Hopefully he doesn't do well because he was heating up with the Cubs... Also the Yunel trade was ridiculously dumb which ever way you put it, and they threw in a guy who could be good in JoJo Reyes. Wow. If the ignorance of this group wasn't already proven, certainly it is now. JoJo Reyes could be good. Yeah, and Jeff Francoeur could be a perennial All-Star. Give me a break. No one in Atlanta is crying over Yunel Escobar. Good luck to the kid, but he was not going to work out in Atlanta. Even if he finds himself again in Toronto, it's simply stupid to think that he would have done the same for the Braves. If anything, Escobar's recent play is an indication that he is much more comfortable in his new environment. If he was still with the Braves he'd probably still have a big fat zero in the home run column. Unfortunately, there's just no reasoning with certain people about this, especially certain Marlins fans here who seemingly are looking for any excuse they can find to trash the hated Braves, the facts be damned. Which is fine, if that's what makes you happy. But just don't expect the rest of us who are actually familiar with the situation to take your ignorant criticisms very seriously.
  2. Touchy touchy Braves fan. It's true: stupidity offends me. I can't help it.
  3. This is what we call a minor upgrade. A "whatever" trade. BTW, talking about Braves trades: Alex Gonzalez: .241/.311/.407 Yunel Escobar: .311/.365/.434 Solid trade Bravos. By the way, talk about clueless idiots: Rabbethan
  4. You're messing up if you're trading players for personal reasons when they help you win games. Especially when you're shipping them out for way under market price. Like I said before, you don't get it. Yunel backed the Braves into a corner with his on the field and off the field issues. Things just weren't going to work out.
  5. But whatever, it's the Braves. I'm happy whenever they mess up. You obviously don't get it. Anybody looking at this trade from a per talent exchange standpoint is going to miss the point. The Braves did not trade Escobar because he's had a bad first half with the bat or because they think Alex Gonzalez is some wonderful player worth dumping a cheap, young shortstop for. This wasn't about talent. It was about Escobar's continued poor attitude. He was, from all accounts, a clubhouse cancer. Bobby Cox maybe especially was sick of his on-the-field mental lapses and all-too-frequent lackadaisical play. He had to go. The fact that Escobar has been terrible offensively this year only made this inevitable move a bit easier to take. The Braves didn't "mess up." Escobar did. Repeatedly. And that's why he was shipped out of town. Considering the circumstances, the Braves didn't do too badly. Gonzalez is, at the very least, serviceable. He'll provide a decent stopgap until the Braves can find a long-term replacement.
  6. No he didn't, you're not a playoff team. And the Rockies are? You shouldn't let your hatred for the Braves drive you to say stupid things.
  7. not letting hansen starting the ninth in houston, Some Braves fan you are. You can't even spell Hanson's name correctly.
  8. This thread perfectly illustrates why the United States' liberal immigration policies are destroying this country. Too many first, second or even third generation immigrants who don't really want to be Americans, but yet have no problem living off the fat of the land. "But you don't understand, I'm Dominican." No, I understand completely. I just wish you'd go back and live in the Dominican and stop turning my country into a multicultural boarding house, where the only culture and heritage that matters are the ones brought in here from the outside. And take A-Rod with you.
  9. actually, i think we should convert hampton to first base (at least that's what one suggested, unless it's a mike piazza disaster), because look at his hitting stats. .242/15/63 in 664 at bats (that's a bit over a season's worth of ab's), that's pretty decent numbers. benching thorman for hampton doesn't look that bad, and would give his career some new life. i personally think his days of pitching are over. I really hope you're being facetious.
  10. As an ugly person, I find this thread offensive.
