The only things mentioned were severe cases of acne, or something called Keloids. Keloids is a raised scarring that occurs mainly within some minority groups, and is brought on by skin abasions (possibly acne.) As I said, there really is not too much even mentioned about Astacio's condition, so what little I found may not be acurate
