1. Have a great day,CyggyMarlin - nice to share a birthday with ya!
2. Glenn rocks! I am addicted to his show. How old was Amelia????
3. Cape Elizabeth High School Woo.? :plain Their list of the college distribution of the Class of 2003 is inaccurate, though... there are 3 people going to Colby, but they only list one.? :mischief2?? That's our guidance department, though.? Unofficially the worst in the nation.? :thumbdown 575614 what a small world. I went to college with your principal! 575644  Hmm... here's a question. Do you know if he always walked around Williams with a clipboard? He never lets that thing get out of his sight now. Nah. he is a great guy! give him a break. 575655 575661 Hey, I was there too -- class of '76 -- Dennett How about you??
4. Thanks for the birthday greetings!!
5. and they have even better fans than those Cubs or Yankees... Besides the family of Yankee fans that sat in front of us (we all talked and got along great), I saw ONE nice Yankee fan. The rest were horrible. So bad, they were thrown out ion the 8th inning, right before they would rally back and tie it up (thank god they weren't there for that, or else all hell would have broken loose).Too bad you weren't in Section 443 during Game 3 -- you could have met some more nice Yankee fans (who of course were rooting for the Marlins -- well, most of us... ). Actually, there were quite a few nice ones up behind us who were taking incredible harassment from one obnoxious Marlins fan -- and keeping their cool and reacting with good humor. I was impressed, and very surprised! From what I could tell, however, there were quite a few wretched ones in the outfield seats... :thumbdown I did like one guy I saw -- with a half-Yankee, half-Marlins shirt on -- described my sentiments exactly! And, the article wasn't exactly accurate -- all the Red Sox fans up here are definitely rooting for the Marlins... all of a sudden remembering all their SeaDogs roots..... GO FISH!
6. I would kill to go to a World Series game even if I am getting soaked. Yep! This family of 6 flew in from Portland, Maine and attended Game 3 -- in the 13th row of Section 443 -- and stayed until the last raindrop, despite being naive enough to believe the weather forecast of "NO rain in sight". No ponchos, most of us in shorts -- our clothes were still wet when we left for the airport at 6:30AM on Wednesday! We were drenched as well as frustrated, not only because the Marlins lost, but also because we suffered the entire night with a loud-mouthed, rude, crude Marlins fan sitting directly behind us. All night long he picked fights with every Yankee fan who walked by (and there were lots, since we were also seated near an entrance to the section and a railing blocked our view of the batter's box -- can't people sit down and watch the game???!?) and yelled crude comments repeatedly to every Yankee player who came up-to-bat. I was not happy that my 14-yr-old daughter, as well as many little children around us, were exposed to this jerk. After getting a shower of beer as well as rain, I finally said something to him - which quieted him down for about a half-inning or so. Despite being a Yankee/Marlins fan, I went in rooting for the Marlins with no hesitation. After being subjected to this creep for only a couple innings, I have to admit that I rooted for the Yankees (totally silently and unobtrusively, of course) for the rest of the night. He had no clue I was a Yankees fan until I told him that he had single-handedly lost the team one fan, at least that night. (I'm sure that made a difference to him ) Anyway, YES, you guys need a new stadium -- a retractable dome would be awesome. The location was great for us -- we were 5 miles away at a Best Western, and the stadium was easy to get to -- but I am sure it must be inconvenient for those of you who live in the area. And, despite how lousy we felt during the game, we wouldn't have missed it for the world -- it was awesome to be at the WS and see these guys in the flesh -- wish we could have stayed for all the games... Back rooting for the Marlins.......last night's game was awesome! GO FISH!
7. Hey everyone -- won't be here for the game -- off watching the big screen far away from the computer. Anyway, wanted to say GO MARLINS! Just remember to stay positive. This should be a great game! :thumbup Wish it could end in a tie (kind of) -- divided loyalties, but what a problem to have!
8. Alfonso Soriano Nick Johnson Derek Jeter Bernie Williams Hideki Matsui Jorge Posada Jason Giambi Aaron Boone Karim Garcia Nick Johnson in the 2 hole with Giambi 7??? Same lineup as the other night, with the exception of Aaron Boone starting instead of Enrique Wilson. Obviously, Jason must like that #7 spot, what with 2 HRs! He had been in a slump before that though, so it made sense to me. Nick wasn't stellar at the #2 spot though..... And right now, the Yankee fan in me thinks that they should bump Sori down a few pegs, or replace him with Wilson for a game.
9. Kinda funny story re: Sea Dogs. I was in attendance for Fenway's "Maine Day" last month b/c their opponent was the Right Sox (we cleaned Boston's clock). Slugger, the Sea Dog mascot, was in attendance and was outperforming the shag-rug Muppety something called Wally the Green Monster. By the end of the game, most of the fans in my section wanted to keep the dog, and I was right with 'em on that. Slugger is still the best!! Just wearing the wrong colors these days..... :thumbdown
10. Been a Marlins fan since the SeaDogs showed up in Portland. I am really ticked with the people around here -- even with the SeaDogs here, they were never really Marlins supporters. And, this year, when the SeaDogs became the Red Sox AA team, you NEVER heard of anyone rooting for the Marlins -- people couldn't forget about the Fish fast enough, even though several of our beloved SeaDogs were now Marlins! But NOW, that the Yankees beat Boston, everyone here is "Go Marlins!" Makes me sick :angry As for support, I often wear my 1997 WS shirt as well as a great shirt of CJ with the slogan "Thou Shalt Not Steal". Of course, I also wear my Yankee shirt on occasion :whistle
11. We're not done yet....Still have to face the best pitcher in the NL tomorrow, but as tonight shows this team has something amazing behind it. We have gained way too much Momentum and the Cubs have been totally brought down....Also there is a tremendous amount of pressure on Wood more so then Redman..World Series! This season has been too magical for us not to win it all! We are the 2003 Angels. We have much more class than the Angels!!
12. our father guide us to victory tonight and all that is holy we come to u in hopes of advancing tonight ..guide our marlins and our fans and lead us to victory..amen AMEN!!!
13. Looks like FOX might move the game up to 7:45 PM ET. Not sure yet, but Jeanne and Kevin with a 30 minute pregame show is way too much for them. there is nothing for them to talk about that long. Hasn't stopped them before....
14. Yeah, some of us who live far, far away really want to come and we need to make plans now....
15. Great article!! Thanks, CapeFish!
16. Come on, Josh -- HR right here!!!!!!!!!!!
17. GRAB SOME BENCH, SAMMY!!!!!!!
18. Way to be patient, Pudge --- LET'S Go MIGUEL!
19. C'MON PUDGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
20. Woohoo!! That felt GOOOD! BAAAAAHHHH!
21. He's not hitting his target for sh-t. It's amazing that there are 2 outs. You can thank the ump for those outs :thumbdown
22. I can't believe he just compared him to Willis!! :angry
23. WTG Luis -- let's go, Marlins!
24. Hey everyone -- excellent beginning!!!
25. Anyone gone to church? Went to church and prayed for the Marlins (while the rest of the congregation prayed for the Red Sox -- no AMEN from this corner! ) Totally believe in this team!!!!!!!
