Miller's Clearly Not Ready
I don't really think anyone is saying that Miller sucks, but he definitely needs to go back to the minors and work on his command. No matter what pitcher it is, if he's having such bad command, he has to work on something in the minors. Especially while the team is fighting for the division. It's unfair to the rest of the guys, especially with the starts the team has gotten the past couple weeks. I don't expect him to be around much longer, hopefully he can go down work on some stuff and be back in September, but we definitely need another starter. Whether it's Mitre, Anibal, or some one else via trade. If these were meaningless games that he was pitching, it would be a different thing. But these games mean a lot to this team, and it's fans. So, he can't continue to have such poor starts at this level. The same way that they demoted Hendrickson and Tucker, they can demote Miller. Amen, brother!

Miller's Clearly Not Ready
I agree. Also, talk about being stuck between a rock and hard place: Do you leave Miller out there for the 2nd (in which he has struggled also this year) or bring in Hendrickson, who in a word, BLOWS? Just for the record, I've always thought that Miller belonged in the minor, but I understood giving it a shot at the beginning just based on the injuries, but it's been clear for some time that he really needs to develop at a lower level.

Call Me Crazy, But I've Seen This Before
Rich Waltz was a little wordy at the end of the game: "And the Marlins bullpen blows two leads tonight" should have been " And the Marlins bullpen BLOWS." How many games are we going to give away this year? If the front office is at all serious about this season, they HAVE TO get us some relief pitching. I hate Kevin Gregg. I'm not surprised he blew the save. I'm surprised that he didn't do it by walking in/wild pitching in the tying run first. IMO Joe Nelson has been the only reliever out there lately who looks like he knows what he's doing. Has there been any thought to moving him to the closer spot?

Call Me Crazy, But I've Seen This Before
I'm not usually one to start threads on a message board, generally I'm more of a reader, but this has just gotten me so angry that I have to vent it. Is it just me, or does it seem like Kensing's wild pitch in tonight's games against the Rockies was just the latest in a long line of Marlins relievers throwing one in the dirt in the late innings of a close game? Pinto a couple of nights ago, I know I've seen Gregg do it what seems like every other appearance. It is about the most infuriating thing I've ever seen.

Marlin Fan Population
Back on topic, Gainesville(UF at least) has many more fans than I expected. I'd say the team breakdown is like this up here: 1. Marlins 2. Rays 3. Yankees 4. Braves I totally agree: there are a lot more Marlins fans up here than I ever expected. Whenever I wear my Marlins hat at least two or three people say something to me (like "Hell Yeah" or "Go Fish" at school, around town, wherever. But in my experience, the team breakdown is a little different. I've seen: 1. Marlins 2. Yankees 3. Red Sox 4. Braves 5. Rays

Holly's Spring Training Picture Thread.
(From left to right) Dan Uggla, Reggie Abercrombie (but I could be wrong), and Jeremy Hermida were running wind sprints later in the day (thank my camera's zoom lens for that one). More to come.... Uggs demonstrating his game face; Reggie and Hermida taking notes.
