  1. Today's game is not being radio or mlbtv streamed? How am I going to get through my day at work! :thumbdown
  2. I'm 24 and am working on a master's in urban planning. I've been to Miami a handful of times as well. I was very impressed with the Metromover and Metrorail systems when I was there. I didn't ride the Metrorail, but building a stadium near Metrorail will significantly boost attendance. Parking, traffic, and simply the cost of parking and gas will make using transit MUCH MORE attractive. People won't have to deal with anything. It was like this when I went to a White Sox game in 2003. The transit station was in the middle of the Interstate and there was a pedestrian bridge over the lanes so thousands of people could walk to the stadium with no problem. I thought it was pretty freakin sweet. Are there any plans for Metrorail or Metromover extensions? We're just now learning that highways should not be the ONLY way to get around a city. All they do is make traffic worse and make new ghettos. Rail can also carry 15 times the number of people per hour than a highway. That's why I think putting the stadium on the rail line is important. Too bad AAA isn't on the Metrorail.
  3. How close is the new stadium going to be to the metrorail/metromover exchange? Isn't it really close? This will be a great location to get people around Downtown before/after games, and back out to the suburbs!
  4. Thanks. I got the 89.95 mlb.tv package, but I think I want to spend the extra $30 to upgrade. I saw someone commenting in another thread about better quality streaming. I want it to look like I am watching it on tv! I wonder if they'll let me just pay the difference and upgrade?
  5. I would hate to see any teams contracted. Let's see how this new ownership does with the Devil Rays. Look at the Buccaneers and Lightning attendance, before they were awesome. If they start winning, and are still having horrendous problems, then maybe it would be time to build a new stadium in Orlando maybe, but definitely not leave Central Florida. Since I live in NO and I am used to living in a salary cap city (NFL and NBA), it's easy for me to say a salary cap would tremendously help baseball. Maybe that and more interleague play. Oh yeah, and maybe a new commish...
  6. Y'all probably don't remember me, but I was a fish fan from afar (NOLA). Katrina came, and needless to say knocked me out of commission for a while. Anyway, glad to see the Marlins season starting up, and even better news to see a stadium FINALLY coming! This year, I got mlb.tv, so now I can watch the Marlins games on my computer (19" monitor so I can lay down) for the first time. I won't be relegated to just watching the national tv games!
