  1. The cow was reportedly holding a sign that said "Eat Mor Chikin." :lol
  2. If you look at Sammy's performance last year, especially the second half when he lost playing time to a younger player, in some offensive categories his numbers improved leading me to think he could be an asset coming off the bench or platooning. That said, all that was well and good at $500k a season, but as has been pointed out above, at any number north of a million, nevermind the $7 million he's seeking, there are just too many young players looking for their shot at a roster spot to seriously consider the guy. Sammy has to decide if he wants the chance to maybe (long shot) join the elite 700 club or he wants $7 million. He can't have both. Not here, not anywhere. If the guy's ego is so big that he thinks he can get $7 million next year, no chance (no matter how much he's making since it won't be that high) that he'd settle for coming off the bench.
  3. John f'n Russell? Why doesn't someone just go ahead and bomb PNC Park right now? It's not as if anything useful is ever going to come out of that place, and we'll be actually getting rid of trash, like unused bobbleheads and fireworks. I don't know, compared to some of the guys they were interviewing, I can't say I'm too upset about the hiring. I would have liked to see Joel Skinner though.
