Posted November 3, 200717 yr How about getting this hall of famer? The price tag shouldn't be a problem.
November 3, 200717 yr We DONT aim at collecting of "trailer park trashes" in offseason. Just need "CF-SP-C"s, dude.
November 3, 200717 yr Dude wants 7 million. No thanks. If he didn't want that much, I'd say yes. But not for much more than $4M.
November 3, 200717 yr If you look at Sammy's performance last year, especially the second half when he lost playing time to a younger player, in some offensive categories his numbers improved leading me to think he could be an asset coming off the bench or platooning.  That said, all that was well and good at $500k a season, but as has been pointed out above, at any number north of a million, nevermind the $7 million he's seeking, there are just too many young players looking for their shot at a roster spot to seriously consider the guy. Sammy has to decide if he wants the chance to maybe (long shot) join the elite 700 club or he wants $7 million. He can't have both. Not here, not anywhere.
November 3, 200717 yr Not even for $1 Mil. He's done. he had a pretty good year mind you, I don't think we need him but he is far from done

November 3, 200717 yr Not even for $1 Mil. He's done. He'll get much more than that. But not from us.
November 4, 200717 yr Have we not learned from the Yankees that big names don't win games? I would like the Marlins to go after what they need! I want an outfielder who has RANGE, and can hit for a decent average.

November 4, 200717 yr Sosa had a pretty good bounce back year.  Unfortuantely we dont play in the AL, as Sammy is pretty much a DH these days.
