November 4, 200719 yr Is it possible for the Marlins to sign Lowell and move Cabrera to First base instead of signing A-Rod??? We can also trade Willis for good pitching and we might be going in the right direction... Imagine: Ramirez Hermida Cabrera Lowell Willingham Uggla Lo Du Ca CF???

It would make perfect sense but I just don't see Loria reaching for his wallet anytime soon

Im also all about just inserting Du Ca into our starting lineup.
November 4, 200719 yr any playing in Sox nation for the past 2 years and being thrown away by the fish he is going to come back here to play in front of 10,000 people in an empty stadium???? no way!!!!!! NEXT
November 4, 200719 yr I would love to have Mike Lowell back in teal, I really would. But Mike Lowell should be asking for a 3-year, $30 Million deal after the season he just had. And there's no reason he shouldn't get it in this years market. Only a few teams will be in the A-Rod bidding, and Mike Lowell is the next best thing. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get even $12 Mill per.
November 5, 200719 yr Lowell AWAY .276/.339/.428 (.776). It's all Fenway, and the RBIs are inflated by the OBP whores in front of Lowell. Mike Lamb will be 1/4th the price and offers the same production potential if you somehow think the Marlins need this type of player (which they don't).

I think any Marlin fan knew pull-happy Lowell would benefit incredibly from Fenway. Anyone else, however, may be blinded by the numbers. Lowell will still get his contract... BUT, we all know better. Lowell will never be a Marlin again.
November 5, 200719 yr i just want to thank this first poster and futuremarlinsgm as well. the past few days at work have been a pain in my behind, but coming home to read this post(s) and acutally fathom the idea that they are semi-serious is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo hiliarious, and it makes me forget about work troubles. so thanks to the forum and keep this jokes coming along. by the way the gms will be orlando, should i go there and mention the mike lowell idea, the barry bonds idea and the cabrera to LA for their whole team idea?

If we're bounding on ridiculous, I think Mike Lowell getting a contract offer from the Marlins is astronomically more likely than the fish moving to Orlando.

Even the Sox will probably offer him more than 10m/year and I think that'd be a discounted 3ish year contract for the Red Sox, he'll probably get 14/year.
November 5, 200719 yr No thanks, i love Mike Lowell but w/o the Monster he wouldn't have those numbers...
November 5, 200719 yr only way i see Mike Lowell coming back if Cabrera is trade and we close to making new ballpark deal
November 5, 200719 yr No thanks, i love Mike Lowell but w/o the Monster he wouldn't have those numbers... Well, Dolphin Stadium is one of if not the most similar hitting park to Fenway in Lowell's case. That's why he had so much success here, too, IMO. I mean, how many Lowell homers snuck over the Teal Tower or in the corner? How many doubles bounced off the Tower or couldn't be chased into the deap gaps? Granted, Fenway is even better for him, but this isn't a bad place for a righty dead-pull hitter.

Just eyeballign his stats it looks like the gap between his home / away slip with the Red Sox is smaller than what it was with the Marlins. I wouldn't want him because of the cost but just agreeing with you.
