  1. I just saw the Luis Gonzalez and Kevin Gregg spots for "Smoke Free Florida." Wow, Kevin comes off as a robot! "Danger Will Robinson. Do not smoke." :blink: Was it on FSN or Sun? If so I might see it. I have the sports pack with directv so I get all the FSN's. Maybe I'll see it.
  2. Jeremy will be activated before our next game and carroll has been sent down although he did a very nice job. I love Brett Carroll (to whom I lovingly refer as "Jason Michael Brett Carroll"). Oh, well- Jeremy Hermida is actually on my fantasy team, so yay! :thumbup HAHAHA thats funny. Of course the only people that are going to get that is the people that listen to country music.
  3. I've had this idea for a lineup for a while now, tell me what ya'll think of it. SS: Hanley 2B: Hanley 3B: Hanley 1B: Jason Wood LF: Hanley RF: Hanley CF: Hanley C: Hanley P: Hanley That might work. I would get some crazy stats for my fantasy team as well.
  4. The problem is that you assume Amezaga leading off will usually make out #1. Disrespecting the most versatile utility player in baseball as usual. See for yourself, here's the log from him leading off in a recent game. Pitch 1: Ball Pitch 2: Strike Pitch 3: Ball Pitch 4: Strike Pitch 5: Ball Pitch 6: Foul Pitch 7: Foul Pitch 8: Foul Pitch 9: Foul Pitch 10: Foul Pitch 11: Foul Pitch 12: Foul Pitch 13: Foul Pitch 14: Foul Pitch 15: Foul .... .... Pitch 30: Foul (coach's visit to the mound) .... .... Pitch 50: Foul (Rich Waltz hyperventilates and passes out) .... .... Pitch 75: Foul (bullpen warming) .... .... .... Pitch 97: Ground ball to 3B. Amezaga races out to 3rd to field his own ball, fires to 1B where Amezaga is covering. The ball and Amezaga reach at the exact same instant, and upon attempting to tag himself out the laws of physics are stretched and the opposing team sucked into a black hole. And that was just in his first AB. LOL That is awesome. HAHAHAHAHA
  5. You think the Fish would trade Hanley back to Boston. LOL JK He wouldn't be 1/4 of the player in Boston as he is in Fla. Getting traded to Fla. was the best move for him. Hanley wouldn't be 1/4th the player he is if he was on the Red Sox? If he was on the Boston, he would be a baseball demigod. You are right in a way. But I don't think he would be what he is now(meaning this point in time) if he didn't get traded. It would have taken him longer to get were he is if he was in beantown. We (fans and media) are alot harder on our athletes then alot of markets. But you are right we would love him. We would just still be waiting to see what you already have. With the way you guys treat Jacoby, and how Pedroia was treated last year, Hanley would have a statue by now. LOL Maybe. He would be a fan favorite along with Jacoby, Pedroia, Manny, Pap, Papi and maybe Youk. With that said I still think if the Sox didn't make the trade he wouldn't have started the year in 05 in the bigs. He would have played for the PawSox for most of the year and not come up till 06 to be a starter. Hints when I said we would still be waiting for what you guys have already seen. You guys have got to see him play for 2 full seasons. If he wasn't traded we would have seen him play maybe a season and a half. So he wouldn't be anywhere close to were he is in his career if he was still here. He got a head start going to Fla. He is a much different player now than he was when the Sox traded him. We knew what he could be. Didn't know how long it was gong to take him to get there. However we didn't know he was going to be able to hit 29 hr's in a season. Since he only hit 20 in his 4 years between A and AA. I think he could take the Boston fans and media at this point in his career if he was traded to us tomorrow. Only because of the head start he got. But I don't think he could have then. Remember you go a AA player in the winter of 05. As for Jacoby. Most of the fans that are sold on him are female. LOL He had a great World Series but I think alot of us would like to see him do that for a full season before the male fans start cheering for him. Just to add something... Son, Hanley would be the best hitter on your whole damned lineup... Well, that plays the field. 1 Im not you son 2 It would be imposable for me to be your son since I am older then you. 3 Good thing you said that plays in the field. Because Ortiz is nasty. 4 Manny may have a leg up on Hanley. The leg isn't very long but it's still a leg.

  7. So me and PWG were reading everyone's post, and we decided to use the information you have all provided us to build the perfect lineup! Here it goes. 1. Amezaga, CF - He will battle it out every time. Sure, he loses most of those battles, but he will battle. 1 out. 2. Cantu, 2B - We traded Uggla for a bullpen arm or something, he sucks. So since Cantu isn't Uggla, we put him in at 2B. He won't strikeout, so that's probably him on base. 3. Hammer, LF - He'll hit a homer, Marlins up 2-0 4. Jake, 1B - He'll hit another homer, Marlins up 3-0 5. Brett Carroll, RF - Mungo shows us the light, so we waived Hermida outright. Carroll probably swings and misses, K, 2 outs, but his glove actually give us a run. Marlins up 4-0 6. Andino, 3B - We saved the best for the 6th spot. If, for some reason, someone infront of him didn't give us a run or something, Andino brings him in. Home run. Fish 5-0. 7. Treanor, C - He gets a fat pitch and bloops it into center for a single. 8. Hanley, SS - Fear of Hanley is why this lineup works. He protects the 1-7 men. Hanley obviously hits a homer. The ump gives him an extra run based on principle. Fish up 8-0. 9. Pitcher, P - Strikeout. 3 outs, end of the inning. With this lineup, we should be able to get 8 runs in every inning! Fredi, if you read this, you can thank us later. Stats for NL 2B for 2007 Uggla was 1st in runs with 113 (also 1st in MLB), 1st in hr's with 31, (also 1st in MLB), 3rd in rbi's with 88 (4th in MLB), sb well not all that great. Hanley will get you 50 so you don't need him to run. Avg. hmmm ok he isn't going to win a batting title. Stats for NL 2B for 2006 2cd in Runs with 105 (also 2cd in MLB) (went up in 07) 2cd in hr with 27 (also 2cd in MLB) (went up in 07) 3rd in rbi's with 90 (also 3rd in MLB) (went up in 07) Tell you what I'd take Uggla over Pedroia any day of the week only for his bat. For def. I want Pedroia. I would take both of them over Cantu. He had 1 good year for the Rays in 05. I will agree with you on Hermida. He is hurt way to much. You may be ably to send him packing for an arm in the pen.

  10. I suppose he should come in late at 3B a few more times at least. I mean how much has the guy actually played there? That said, I think it will be hard to send down a guy hitting as well as he is now. I hope the team finds a spot for him, but for any long-term starting position he's gonna need to go somewhere new. Unless we were to do something crazy like push Hanley over to 3B and play Andino at SS. Back when Hanley was in the Red Sox org people expected that as got bigger he would move over to 3B eventually. Just a thought. To answer how many games Andino played 3B. Here is his position breakdown. In 2005 the Red Sox signed Edger Renterria or who Red Sox Nation called Rental Reck to play SS so there was talk about moving him to 2B or 3B. Instead they sent him to AA Portland. Then in the winter we all know what happened. The big Hanley, Anibal and I think an other player for Becket, Mota and Lowell trade. Which is the reason I'm now a fan of the Fish. Was really pissed off when the Sox traded Hanley. As much as I really don't like Beckett the Sox couldn't have won the World Series in "07" without him. The throw in (Lowell) was pretty awesome to.   11. while i agree with bobbob about being too early too look at this stuff...god i pray that our pitching gets better or else this will be a very, very long year Well the pitching can only get better. You must say the rotatoin is pretty weak. Mitre should be back by the end of May. He should be good for no less than 5 or 6 wins if he can make about 20 starts Witch is pretty good since Hendrickson "the number one" LOL is projected to have 6 wins in 35 games. Anibal hmmm something to look forward to right before or right after the All Star break. fingers crossed :confused maybe 16 starts 4 or 5 wins One other weak spot is rightfield. Gonzo is a leftfielder with the arm to match. Hermida will be lucky if he plays in 111 games and gets 368 AB's. Seems like he is always on the DL. Back to pitching. A few FA that may fit in are Claudio Vargas if the Mets don't sign him and Freddy Garcia if his sholder can hold up.
