Something to consider...
Heres some interesting stats i worked out Home: 7-7 Runs For: 54 Runs Against: 85 Difference: -31 Away: 8-5 Runs For: 67 Runs Against: 52 Difference: +15 and supposedly dolphin stadium is a pitchers friendly park, well it certainly aint been that way for our pitchers so far and yes i understand there has been a few home blowouts but even so... The 33 run differance between home and away are from Andrew Miller 14 runs 3GS 12.1 IP, Mark Henrickson 12 runs 3GS 12.2 IP and Rick VandenHurk 7 runs 2 GS 7.1 IP.

2 florida teams in first?
Bandwagon fans = ticket sales. I understand the resentment, but its not something to complain about. Bandwagon fans are a sign of good things. In our case yes, in their case its their large city and big history. i agree with both of you. the only thing that stinks is because of all the bandwagon fan there isnt any tickets for the real fans the buy. also the price of tickets and food, drinks ect at the game go up. i dont know what it costs to go to a marlins game or a rays game but if i want to to to a sox game and got 2 blechers seats $52, 2 hot dogs $8 and 4 beers $10.50 thats a total of $70.50. plus about $30 for parking if i dont take the train $8 for round trip. so now im at $100. 50 or $78. 50. this is why bandwagon jumpers suck.

2 florida teams in first?
I love the Marlins , as a Floridian i wish the Rays well because they have the same issues we have , particularly dealing a bunch of band wagon fans from the north in the stands . I cant stand all of these new Red Sox fans funny a few years ago i dont recall seeing all the Sox hats around town that I see today. kind like how everyone is wearing celtics stuff here now. where were all these fans when the c's stunk?

2 florida teams in first?
Honestly I'm not sure why the Rays even came into being. However I have nothing against them, I actually like Boston though as my second favorite team. So I hope the Rays don't keep it up. i cant imagine being a red sox fan...depressed for 86 years, happy, depressed, depressed, depressed, and happy...and after being swept by the rays tonight...everyone here is talking football...and thats actually kinda rare Honestly I'm not sure why the Rays even came into being. However I have nothing against them, I actually like Boston though as my second favorite team. So I hope the Rays don't keep it up. i cant imagine being a red sox fan...depressed for 86 years, happy, depressed, depressed, depressed, and happy...and after being swept by the rays tonight...everyone here is talking football...and thats actually kinda rare this is why we are so bitter. lol the thing that really pisses me off is all my nieces and nephews think winning championships is normal. i started watching baseball when i was in 4th grade i only had to wait 16 years to see the sox win unlike my dad who had been waiting since the 50's. as 4 the rays sweeping us this weekend. no big deal. we are starting to get immune to getting beat by the rays. its staring to become a theme. incidentally when i was in 4th grade it was 1986. lol let me just say it wasnt buckners fault we lost. if calvin schiraldi didnt give up 3 straight singles which is how the mets came back from a 2 run deficient and bob stanley didnt throw a wild pitch ray king wouldnt have been on 3rd for mookie wilson to hit in to win the game. i blame the pen and john mcnanara for being drunk and not taking buckner out to put in i think it was dave stapleton. in game 7 the mets figured out hurst in the sixth, scoring three runs to tie the game. ray knight homered off calvin schiraldi leading off the seventh to give the mets their first lead. the mets scored two more runs in the inning to go up 6-3. a two-run double in the eighth cut the met lead to a single run, but sox reliever al nipper gave back those runs in the bottom of the inning on a leadoff home run by darryl strawberry and a rbi single by closer jesse orosco. orosco worked a 1-2-3 ninth to clinch the title, striking out marty barrett swinging for the final out. so once again it was the pen that blew the game. so it wasnt buckners fault like everyone thinks it was.

Miggy for Dice-K, Longoria, Kotchman
I was offered those three for Miggy the other day. I know hell start hitting eventually, but its a keeper league, and I can have Longoria for the next 2-3 seasons at least. Any help would be appreciated. who would you have to drop or do you have 2 open spots on your roster?

2 florida teams in first?
whoda thunk it ! :notworthy how long you think it will last? i see the fish staying in playoff contention for a good part of the season. the rays? idk, they are better than they have even been and swept the sox but they always play the sox hard same with the yanks. they could be the third best team in the al east and not make the playoffs. but then again it is only apirl. i will take the bold statement and say in the next few years they could maybe be better than the yankees. i dont think hank will buy the right players to make a good team like his dad did. both the fish and rays have much better farm systems than the yanks do.

Marlins Games Not Televised
Is there any way to see the Marlins games next year with Comcast digital cable, and do any satellite companies carry the 55 other Marlins games? I think the only way you can get the games is if you buy the MLB extra innings package. Its $199 on comcast or Directv. You would get the feed from the team that they are playing. You would also get up to 80 out-of-market games a week.

Hoover down, Rabelo up.
so we finally have our full 2008 Florida Marlins? No, Mitre. Anibal too. Still gotta sign Bonds as well. And A-Rod If they sign Bonds or Gay Rod I don't think I could watch them again. You should just feel lucky that you get to watch the greatest player in the history of baseball so often. A-Rod is the man. Who are you referring to? And I'm sorry I HATE A-Rod more than any other player in sports. He's a yankee I'm a Sox fan. It's just a given that I wouldn't like him. I hope Beckett drills him on Sat. It really pains me to say that I kind like Jeter. But I was watching a Sox Yanks game in 2004 on ESPN. I think Youk may have been at bat and he hit a foul ball down the thridbase line about 3 rows back. Jeter jumped headfirst into the seats to get the ball. I remember thinking to myself here is a guy diving into 3 rows of plastic seats to get a ball and our ss(Nomar) is being a bitch and crying in the dugout. WOW you have to respect Jeter for doing that. I would also like to add that I may be the only person in the New England area that didn't like Normar. I really wanted to punch him every time he got up to bat. He always took 6 hours per at bat and swung at the first pitch.

Best player in the NL
Pujols is 13 on my list because i have Byrnes and El Caballo(Carlos Lee) before him. You say some rediculous stuff sometimes. I'm going to give you the shadow of a doubt as a Red Sox fan...maybe you just don't get to see the NL very often. Your not the only one that has said that to me. After thinking about it I dont know why I would put Byrnes in font of Pujols :mis2 :confused . I'd like to take that one back. I think I may have been talking out of my Puhole.

Mike Lowell

Edwin Jackson
Well, from the sounds of it, your staff should be pretty solid as it is, I don't think Jackson (or Miller) would make your staff better enough to warrant the moves I drafted SP: Lackey(DL), Gallardo(DL), Smoltz, Shields, McGowan, Andrew Miller(Droped tonight) , Livan Hernandez( picked up as FA last week) RP: Saito, Gagne, Broxton, Fukumori (droped) Sherrill(Picked up as FA last week as well) So yea its ok
-
Edwin Jackson
Would you pick him up in a fantasy league and drop andrew miller? I had Andrew Miller in like a 6 team league. I dropped him a couple days ago, and picked up Jered Weaver. I like Jackson's potential, but it's not a "sure thing." You could get him, and see what he does next start. Who knows? Could be a steal... Your right it isnt a sure thing. Maybe I will hold off for a bit. I can only make 40 moves in the season I have already made 5 and I have Gallardo coming off the DL tomorrow I think.

Edwin Jackson
Would you pick him up in a fantasy league and drop andrew miller? I would, but I usually only come in 3rd or 4th in my fantasy leagues :lol :lol LOL :lol 3rd will win me money. so i may do that.

Best player in the NL
When you say Top 10 players, that means, if I was building a team (regardless of position) that Jimmy Rollins would be in that top 10, that is not the case (specifically using RC/27 from last year) C.Jones Utley Fielder Wright Holliday Pujols Helton Hanley Cabs Howard Dunn Rollins was 19th... since Cabs isn't in the NL anymore, we can even bump him up to 18th My Top 10 NL Would be: Holliday Hanley Rollings Wright Fielder Reyes Chipper Phillips Howard Braun Pujols is 13 on my list because i have Byrnes and El Caballo(Carlos Lee) before him.

Best player in the NL
I disagree, I think Zimmerman, based on glove AND bat make him a top 10 player, I'll concede Ryan Braun though. Matt Holliday replaces Braun on my list Unless I missed his name im sorry. It took me I think it was 21 posts before I read Matt Hollidays name. Thats to long.

Best player in the NL
Am I the only 1 who thinks Jimmy Rollins isn't even the best player on his own team (Utley, anyone)? very close

If Mark Hendrickson fails again tonight.....how many more ?
I'd send down Miller before Hendrickson.....He did have a decent enough start last time to get the win. I agree with you. I'd send Miller down till maybe the break then bring him back up.
