Just got to learn from it, I hope that they really get pissed about the game, knowing they should have won, and go on a little run the rest of the road trip. The BS call doesnt matter because that throw out on the steal was bs and cost them at least one run, so i say we are even on the umpires tonight. Yah they blew but it didnt really favor one team or the other. Hermida pinch hit basically for the pitcher and rabelo basically hit for treanor in that situation. I think way you look at it is they wanted to put hermida up first in the inning to set the table with amezaga to follow. Get one of them on base and drive them home with Rabelo/Hanley combo. From a baseball sense its a pretty solid way of using your order. Also it ends with our best player getting to hit with the tying run on second. I dont think you can ask for more in that situation. The problem is that Hermida should have pinch hit in the 8th for Cody Ross when we had 2 on base with 2 outs. Would it have changed anything? Who knows, but that fact that we didn't and we left the gigantic slumping Cody out there is dumb. why would he pinch hit for cody in the 8th. cody is a better hitter and its not guarenteed that jeremy gets a hit and hes a bad fielder. he wanted to save jeremy for the 9th with the bottom of the order coming up Cody is not even close to the hitter than Hermida is. You do realize Cody is hitting .176, right? Before his lucky hit yesterday, which was cause by bad fielding, he hadn't gotten a hit since the series against Houston. You do realize that we're in April, right? Last I checked, Cody Ross was awesome against lefties last year. Better than Hermida (much better sample size too). And Hermida wasn't exactly tearing the cover off the ball to begin with either. You seem to have the same problem with Helms...in case you hadn't noticed...12 at bats is not a good sample size to judge your opinion off of. Helms is still a better hitter than Rabelo. It's always been that way. As for the bunting theory, I already explained this one, as many other people have...so it's useless explaining it again. It's pretty obvious we have different styles on how to manage. :thumbup But the problem is that Cody is slumping worse than any player on our team. April or not, I know you understand a slump. And Cody is slumping something bad. Hermida isn't doing great, but much better than Cody. I'm rolling the same with Helms. He has obviously not been seeing well, and is still getting into the hitting mood. The risk of putting a cold hitter who is still getting acclimated is way too high. I agree on the "I am pissed" thing. But that's it. I disagree about what you don't like. Carlos Tosca mismanaged the hell out of that game. How do you not pinch for Cody in that situation? How do you throw away an out in the 9th on the road? You don't give away outs. Statistically speaking, you always have a better chance of getting a run with 0 outs and a man on 1st than with 1 out and a man on 2nd. This isn't my gut talking, it is fact. hows rabelo doing. really? it is fact. because last i checked it is easier to get a single which is all you need with a guy on 2nd then it is to get a double plus speed which is what you need with a guy on 1st. and last time i checked it was more common that people get singles than people getting doubles especially against a good closer
