Yay! LoDuca! Would have been a shame to have Baker play after going 3-4 with a walk and a double. He sat Gonzo after having some big games in New York too. Sometimes I think Fredi plans to have certain guys play days in advance, and he sticks with his plan no matter what other guys do in the mean time. bobby cox loves his favorites, so i say it's another move from the bobby playbook for fredi. Does it matter to anyone else that the ball LoDuca hit off the end of the bat was ball 4? why would it as long as he got a hit. but now if he didnt then it would be a different story. i guess today we, including me, are going to be very critical about everything lo duca does Yeah, maybe overly critical. I admit that. But the point is that he had let that ball go, there was 100% chance that he ended up at 1st base. Swinging doesn't give you that. true but thats better than most of our line up who swing at balls 1-2-3 to SO

We really haven't seen LoDuca in game-altering pinch hit situations so I for one am willing to see how well he does when called upon to move a runner over or sacrifice to right field. I'm not sure anyone can know whether he's a good pinch hitting option or not until we've seen him called upon to perform situationally a number of times. it very well may be he is a bust, or he may do well, I say let's wait and see. Like Cantu, the smartest productive hitter on the team, LoDuca will be going to the plate knowing what he needs to accomplish, which potentially is a step up from "...guys trying to hit four run homers with no one base", as Fredi likes to say. I do think that not using him, and that includes looking for situations to use him, is a mistake. If all he does is ride the bench that's a roster spot that could better be used for other purposes. Yeah...but y'see...I think that's the problem. I don't see Fredi going to Lo Duca over Helms, for example, in important situations, with a lefty on the mound. With a righty, I don't see Fredi using Lo Duca over Helms or Gonzo. So really...Lo Duca is like the 3rd best option as a pinch-hitter on the bench. Personally, I'm not a HUGE Paul Lo Duca fan. I think some on here overrate him. With that said...Lo Duca has the ability to make consistent contact. With Hermida looking like a better hitter at the bottom of the order, I'd like to see Lo Duca bat 2nd one time, to see how it works. It's not as if we have great options in the 2 hole, anyways. i think the only reason lo duca was brought up was because freddi and the organization panicked during the second game of the cubs' series where freddi ran out of bench players after gregg blow the save. i guess they just want lo duca here just in case they are ever confronted with another type of those situations, but until one of those situations arrises i also think he is useless

wtf, why do they have to put "other" other than just putting florida. its obvious that the marlins are the only other team with a chance to win the east, the braves are 13 games behind and the nationals, well i shouldnt even mention them. i know that nobody likes us but everytime i see some crap like this i get pissed. o well i just have to try to remeber that we are going to shock the world and make them look like freakin idiots

LoDuca doesn't stretch well for throws at first. And he gets dizzy in the outfield and throws up (seriously, back in June/July with the Nats he did just that). He is a catcher that can't catch, a fielder that can't field, a batter that can't bat. damn he is worthless to you and so far he is to me too

damn it and when they hit it hard they still cant get a freakin hit
