9/19 Post Game
its a little late, but i'll take it. SpiderMaybin takes it hands down, reaches base in 10 straight plate appearances, 8 straight hits, Crazy for a guy in his second start wit da team the marlins are now 4.5 games back of the wildcard w/ 9 games to go. last year the rockies were 4.5 games back of the wild card w/ 9 games to go w/ the same exact record, 81-72. i'd say there still is a chance. not even when they are actually in the playoffs are you going to say that they have a chance LOL, I was actually talking about the post game thread, that he made it half an hour too late ahhhhh perdon

9/19 Phillies @ Marlins
JJ was due for a bad start. He really hadn't had one since coming back from Tommy John. Chase Utley, sac fly. 5-4 Marlins now. :bases_thirdbase 2 outs. Werth up. i wish the bad start was against a bad offense like the nationals though What difference does it make? A bad start is a bad start regardless of the opponents cos u have given up several runs cause then the bullpen might be able to shut them, the nationals, down after johnson's bad start. in this case it will be extremely difficult for our bullpen to shut down a good offense like the phillies if johnson continues to pitch badly

Brett Myers is one ugly bastard with that facial hair in the pic above. I heard something funny today. According to a recent study the best lookin people in the US live in miami while the ugliest live in philly. It was based of all this facil symitry (SP) stuff and if the eyes line up and cheek bones. It's all because of the latinos. :notworthy yea boiii most gringos are pretty ugly. we make this country beautiful lol

John Baker
there is a very weak FA class for catchers this season, so i don't think we really have a choice you say it like its a bad thing, what other choice would you want? please dont tell me pudge. he has done a great job and he has earned the position for next year. he is a great #2 hitter which we have lacked all year. he has the highest obp other than hanley

Kevin Gregg is Concerned about his Trade Value
Here's more, from today's Sun-Sentinel: Kevin Gregg's hunch: I'm gone By Juan C. Rodriguez | South Florida Sun-Sentinel September 17, 2008 MIAMI GARDENS - If his abrupt removal in the ninth inning of Sunday's game didn't make it clear enough, subsequent conversations did. Kevin Gregg has been told the team plans to play out the string with Matt Lindstrom as its closer. The arbitration-eligible Gregg is concluding his two-year tenure with the Marlins Get your Marlins Tickets now! is drawing to an end. "They basically indicated to me they're going to give Lindstrom a tryout and see if he can handle it, see if they can use him next year instead of having to spend some money on me," Gregg said. "They told me, 'Show you're healthy and we'll get you back into closing.' I guess with where we're at in the standings they're changing their tune." After blowing his second straight save and third in six tries on Aug. 29, Gregg sat out 10 days with left knee tendinitis. He returned to the mound Sept. 9 and appeared in three consecutive games last weekend against the Nationals. Sunday, Gregg replaced Joe Nelson (cramp) with two outs and a two-run lead. He gave up an RBI double to Lastings Milledge and was immediately pulled for lefty Arthur Rhodes, who struck out pinch hitter Elijah Dukes to end the game. The Marlins have since confirmed what Gregg suspected. "It's been a process to get to the truth ? but they've decided for now they want to see what they have for next year," Gregg said. "It's pretty much the writing on the wall. You never know. This game is weird that way, but it seems pretty clear to me [i'm gone]." Gregg took over closer duties in mid-May last season after the Jorge Julio debacle and Henry Owens' injury. He is one save shy of joining Robb Nen as the only Marlins with multiple 30-save seasons. With 61 saves, Gregg is one of 10 major league closers with at least that many since the start of 2007. Arbitration-eligible for the second straight season, Gregg is due a considerable raise from the $2.5 million he earned this season. "Finances play everything into their decisions around here," Gregg said. "I have no problem playing somewhere else. It's not like this is the only team I've ever played for. It's a business. They try to save every dollar they can and we try to earn every dollar we're worth. ? Next year I'll have a job. I'm not worried about that. It's just a matter of where it will be." at least we know he'll try to pitch even better in his setup role so he can increase his trade value, but he is still a piece of crap on the floor. he is now on my sh*t list

9/16 Astros @ Marlins
You say the same thing way too many times. because my opinion doesn't change, i like these optimists, but after Gregg blowing that save against Atlanta the season ended for me. We just need to show that we were for real this year, that is what is important to me ok good for you thats your opinion but dont tell us to save it when we give ours ok, i made a bad choice of words, i apologize, lets all just enjoy a marlins win today, agreed? agreed hopefully i can celebrate a playoff berth with you later on

9/16 Astros @ Marlins
please save it, we are huge underdogs, miracles do occur, but our goal right now is to simply finish over .500 I doubt the team's goal is to simply finish above .500. exactly did you guys not watch the pregame show. they still have hope and confidence that they can do it please read my earlier post before judgements what judgements

Chances the Marlins make it close
so the phils are going to be tied for the wildcard lead and we play the phils three more times after the next series. hopefully the brewers will get swept by the cubs in the upcoming series so that the only two teams we have to worry about are the astros and phils who we are playing next. basically if the brewers get swept by the cubs we control our own destiny

Chances the Marlins make it close
I don't think we have much of a chance at either one. It's going to take 0 losses till the end of the season, imo. I think it's just fun to see the team still playing hard, and guys like Lindstrom getting a chance to save games, etc. It gets more fun on Tuesday when we callup the guys from Carolina. Agreed. We'd essentially have to win out and have the Mets play 1 loss more than .500 ball i might delusional but if bboth the mets and the marlins play .500 ball before the last seven games of the season we might have a chance. i'll tell you why, for the last four games before the final three games series between the mets and marlins the mets play the cubs and we play the nationals, who we obviously own. if the mets get swept and we sweep the nats that last series will be unbelievably exciting. i know its alot of things that have to happen but i am just excited about the possiblity of things occuring in the manner i just discussed
