Chances the Marlins make it close

Featured Replies

ok so the marlins won today, and currently the Mutts are winning and the Brewers are losing, we are 7.5 out of the divison, 7 out of the WC, do u think we are going to make it close at the end? (aka 4 games or less) if so, which one will we be closer to at the end, the WC or the division?

I don't think we have much of a chance at either one.

It's going to take 0 losses till the end of the season, imo. I think it's just fun to see the team still playing hard, and guys like Lindstrom getting a chance to save games, etc.

It gets more fun on Tuesday when we callup the guys from Carolina.

I would say we have a 1% chance of winning the divison and about a 3% chance of winning the wildcard. Both unlikely, but anything is possible.

Agreed. We'd essentially have to win out and have the Mets play 1 loss more than .500 ball

i might delusional but if bboth the mets and the marlins play .500 ball before the last seven games of the season we might have a chance. i'll tell you why, for the last four games before the final three games series between the mets and marlins the mets play the cubs and we play the nationals, who we obviously own. if the mets get swept and we sweep the nats that last series will be unbelievably exciting. i know its alot of things that have to happen but i am just excited about the possiblity of things occuring in the manner i just discussed

Oh I know it is highly unlikely anything happens, my goal is to finish over .500, but it is something to talk about

Agreed but we have to take care of our own business. If we do that anything can happen.

6.5 out of division, 6.0 out of WC...I say we can come close in our devision, definately within 4 if we play like we have been (hey, the hurdle was getting over Anibal's start, and we did it). Our bats have been doing what they needed to do, and our pitching has been really good with a few exceptions. If they can remain hot for a few more games, then yes, we can very possibly be within 4 of both by the end of the season. Chances are...not likely, but hey, getting 2.0 and 2.5 games further ahead in a little more then a dozen games isn't impossible.

yey dad was happy his braves came from behind, and wow the fish! what a comeback...i still believe...and i'm actually hoping the phils beat the brewers 2day

If it wasn't for the fact that the Mets suck, I'd say we are dead beyond a shadow of a doubt, but it is possible we could get within 3 by that last showdown.

It is such a longshot right now...The clock is ticking on the Marlins. It is probably too late

don't give up jyet man, still 14 to go anything can happen.

Philadelphia is up 4-0 in their second game.

that's awesome, first we need to take care of our own business, we need to really win every game from now on.

i hope the nats at least take the series vs the mutts and i really hope we keep the streak going sweeping the stros and phils.....do we face any good stro pitcher other than oswalt? and have they been w/o El caballo recently or a while ago?

so the phils are going to be tied for the wildcard lead and we play the phils three more times after the next series. hopefully the brewers will get swept by the cubs in the upcoming series so that the only two teams we have to worry about are the astros and phils who we are playing next. basically if the brewers get swept by the cubs we control our own destiny
