Chances the Marlins make it close

We have a higher chance of winning the wc than the division. And we all know what the wc brings to this team.

I dont think thats true. We have a higher chance at winning the division, if we sweep both the Phillies and the Mets, thats gaining 3 on each team, possibly more depending on W/L during the other series. That asks that we be flawless, and each team loses more than 4 matches. Possible? Yes. Probable? No. Not going to happen, but I wouldnt put us anywhere near the WC.

it all depends

If the BRewers keep blowing it and we beat the Astros were more in the WC but the Phillies or Meys still have to lose to win either so its gonna tak esome great baseball to do it

Yeah, that is very true especially since there is a new manager wit da Brewers, tough to change the manager wit 12 games left in the season. That may cost them the WC

But you guys failed to notice something anyways... we are going to have to place at least second in our division if we want to win wildcard. With both teams sharing an equal record, and we face both teams an equal amount of times, that means we are going to have to get better than one of these records, no? That includes the Phillies, and the Mets. Basically saying, if we win the wildcard, we actually won the division first... because we are going to need to win atleast 5 of 6 of these division matchup Philly/NYM games... which should put us around 1st in the division anyways... leaving whoever we lose 1 to(hypothetically speaking) as the wildcard. Its actually harder for us to win the wildcard... simply because we need to win all of our games to get in anyways... unless we start losing to the Nats towards the end if we are still in it... which I highly doubt.

i'm out for the night, gotta wake up early 2morrow, but i believe the nats will sweep the mutts, the braves will ocmeback and beat phils, ubs will bet brew crew and the fish will win 7th straight! gunna be interesting last 2 weeks folks stay tuned....and then after that october baseball! These games feel like october games already!

Ok, well, obviously, the Fish have to sweep the Astros this series. That will tie us for third in the WC.

Then as we all know, Phillies come on down here. I'd say 2 of 3 and Mets either get swept or go 1-2 in their series against the Braves.

Now, if Milwaukee loses the next 5 games...Fish overtake second place. Say the Mets go 1-4 the next 5 (improbable but hopefully..) that's about ... what, 2 games, 1 game back?

Fish have a chance to gain half a game on the Mets against Cincinnati...Then the Nats.. which would hopefully be a sweep. The Mets play the Cubs the next 3 days, hopefully they get swept which would mean fish take first by maybe a game or two. Then 2 of 3 against the Mets, Wild Card.

Oh man... you never know.

Yeah they even mention us almost as an easy team on the Mets and Phillies schedule... I like it that way though lets win 18 in a row and go unnoticed :D

The Marlins are in control of their own destiny. I think Philadelphia will win the division and the WC will come down to our last series vs the Mutts.

I no longer watch ESPN. Too much biased crap to my liking.

We also weren't on the standings of Fox Sports. The nation doesn't believe in us but what matters is we do.

uhh, no. The team 5 games out with 13 to play is not in control of its own destiny. The team in the front of the pack is in control of its own destiny, all they have to do is win and they are in. The team 5 games back has to continue to win and need the 3 or 4 or 5 teams in front of them all lose.

Let's not get delusional.

By that I meant that all they can do is win their ballgames and the rest will take care of itself.

Wow I never realised the Brewers and Cardinals were playing that bad of late.

The only negative I see with a statement like this is the others are due some wins while we are then due some losses.

I hope this is not the case and we continue to make the final few weeks interesting.

Usually the team that gets hot in the last couple of weeks is the one who goes deep in the Playoffs.

NOOO! this might jinx us. And yeah usually the team that gets hot at the end of the year goes deep. But we still need lots of help imo to get to the PO.

If we win out, I am predicting we make the playoffs. However, to win out, that would mean an 18-game winning streak. If we sweep both the Phillies and Mets series, we will have a very good shot at making it.

Unfortunately thanks to that Cincinnati postponement, no days off til the end of the season. IMO we'll need one of the callups (Maybin? McPherson? Sanchez?) to be a hero for us to pull it off.

From Fox Sports while evaluating the various playoff races:

As well, the remaining schedule strongly benefits the Phillies (they'll play all their games against the drain-circling Braves, Marlins and Nationals). Since the Phils are also healthier, give them the nod in the East.

WOW

That is surely a bit harsh calling us, a team thats 6 games over .500, a "drain-circling" team.

And we have a 9-6 record against the Phillies this season.

so it will be that much sweeter when we sweep them at home
