  1. HOLY sh*t Kingzfan and Ligero u are annoying ass hell go bitch somewhere else Dont get mad at Ligero. Its only kingzfan who's annoying most people. Thanks, dude. The kid just keeps following me around, posting behind me the opposite of anything I say, trying to set me off,lol.. I'm just trying to post here and contribute; you guys seem like a decent crew.
  2. HOLY sh*t Kingzfan and Ligero u are annoying ass hell go bitch somewhere else Don't worry, I'm not replying to this troll no more. Sorry I annoyed you.
  3. Troll, you really need to give it up. They are so sick of your TROLLING on the Marlins MLB.com board they put up a thread in your honor called "Troll Definition". Don't bring your GARBAGE over here. You even brag about having multiple accounts: Kingzfan10: Posts: 78. "I have like three different accounts...". jmp says you have multiple accounts on this board too. These guys told you to knock it off yesterday on the 8/21 Game Thread, but you obviously have no respect for this board either. I came here to post about baseball, not deal with trolls like you. You don't deserve an answer to your post which is full of lies and inaccuracies as all of your posts are. But I'll answer you this time anyway. First of all I played BASEBALL in high school and in college for a year. Following that, I played BASEBALL in various neighborhood leagues, not PRO LEAGUES, of course, but leagues of guys who would get together to play ball and have FUN. I do not pretend to have been a major league ball player, but I can tell you this, child, I have FORGOTTEN more about the game of baseball than you know. Your problem is that you are a troll who followed me here from the MLB board. Your little game is pretty obvious; whatever I post over here, you are going to post the opposite. The problem with that is that you are losing an opportunity to actually LEARN something, not only from me, but from everybody. All you ever do is run your mouth, CONSTANTLY, giving everybody the "benefit" of your "vast baseball knowledge" of 17 years. Were you brought up without a father, in a single parent household? Raised by your Mom? Because you exhibit the classic symptoms of an ignored, rejected, resentful child. You get angry and you stomp your feet. Call people idiots. Challenge them to fights over the internet. Stop that already. You will never learn anything because you are so busy talking you can't HEAR. My father taught me to listen to my elders, to take in the knowledge that they have gotten from their experiences in life. That's true in life as well as in baseball. You just make yourself look like a dumb spiteful kid when you act the way you are acting. Yeah, by the time I was in my early 40's I no longer played baseball, just softball. You should go and play some sports sometime.
  4. bunting practice and bunting in a game is very different, but i agree it is something he should work on this offseason because you arent going to see some sort of change in the middle of the season That is completely and totally untrue, LMAO! As a guy who has played baseball from about 8 years old until about the age of 45 when I finally stopped playing in various leagues, I have to laugh out loud at that. Learning how to bunt DOES NOT require an entire off season. In fact, learning how to put down a simple sacrifice bunt can be done in a good two hour session with a hitting coach, providing the hitting coach himself knows how to bunt. The Yankees years ago used to have Phil Rizzutto show guys how to bunt, because very often whoever was their hitting coach was a guy who had been a good hitter, but not neccessarily a good bunter. But regardless, it is not a hard thing to learn once you know how to hold the bat and square up to the pitcher. Bottom line is if you are going to give a guy a bunt sign, you should have confidence that he knows HOW to bunt.
  5. "I don't understand why this team isn't improving in the slightest, if anything they are simply doing worse." From what I have seen, it does not appear as if the Marlins coaches WORK ON PROBLEMS with their players while the season is in progress. Again, keep in mind that I'm in my 50s, so I remember things being done differently by teams in the past. Hitting coaches on teams worked intensively with guys who wanted or needed help. Guys caught in slumps, or guys falling into bad habits would get with the batting coach (or pitching coach, infield coach, etc.) before games and on off days and work like hell to correct these things. On this team this is either not being done, or the coaches are lousy teachers or the players are lousy learners. In my opinion, they are just not working with the players. Why do I say that? Well, Hanley Ramirez has not been able to hit the outside strike for months; I see no improvement there at all. It's a strange situation; right after signing his new contract Hanley fell into a funk, the chief symptom of which was his sudden, inexplicable inability to hit pitches on the outside corner. Not only is he having trouble hitting that pitch but he thinks it's a ball and gets caught looking at strike three. After all these months there seems to have been no improvement in Hanley's vulnerability to the outside strike and he is still getting rung up looking at that pitch; either he and Pressley are not working on this, or they are, but completely without success. Another example is Jeremy Hermida and his pathetic bunting technique. Back in April I saw him feebly strike out on foul bunt attempts and noted to myself his complete ineptitude as a bunter; he has absolutely NO CLUE on how to even hold the bat, how to stand, etc. I was pretty surprised that this guy got all the way to the majors without any instruction on how to lay down a bunt; then I remembered that that's how things are these days, a lot of players get to the The Show without knowledge of basic baseball fundamentals. Anyway, last week here comes Hermida again in a bunting situation and Fredi gives him the sign, and what does he do? He BUTCHERS another bunt attempt, popping up meekly to the catcher! And watching the replay I see that his bunting technique is exactly the same as it was before: pitiful stance, grip, the whole nine yards. Therefore in the nearly four months after his first bunting disaster he was either not taught anything, or he's a very poor student. The fact that his bat grip and stance had not changed indicates that he almost definitely was not taught how to bunt since April. And if THAT'S the case, then why is Fredi even giving him the bunt sign?! After that abortion of a bunt attempt last April, I certainly would not have given him the bunt sign if I was the manager. In conclusion, the reason the team does not seem to improve during the season is that it DOES NOT APPEAR like they put in a lot time on drills and practice to fix the things this team has trouble with.
  6. Uggla's problem's are mental, fellas. He has not been the same since the All Star Game. Psychologically, he's still in Yankee Stadium. While I was watching the ASG and seeing him commit all those errors and strike outs, etc., I said to myself that I hope this game doesn't get into his head. It would not be the first time that a good player has had a very bad game, or series of games, like a terrible NLCS or World Series and gone into a funk after that. Seen it happen in football too, and in other sports. What happens is the player starts doubting his own ability. Such a player becomes hesitant, starts thinking too much at times and at other times plays as if he is not even thinking at all. The player then starts pressing, but the harder he tries the worse things get. He begins to question whether he even belongs on the same field as his team mates. This is what has happened to Uggla since the All Star game. Will he snap out of it, that's the question. The answer is - I don't know. Sometimes they do, most of the time they do. Eventually. But sometimes they don't. I think he will; after the off season this year. And don't laugh, but he might need to see a sports psychologist or a hypnotist; guys do use the services of both you know. The question is, do you give him a monster multi year deal not knowing if you're getting the Dan Uggla from the 1st half of the season, or the guy who has struggled since ASG. That's the question right there!
  7. *Waits for Fredi to be blamed* Not for this loss. He has had a hand in several others this year, however. I'm new to this board so I don't want to rock the boat right now. I'm sure there are many guys who like Fredi and many who do not. For myself, I have been watching managers since the early 1960's. I remember Ralph Houk vs. Red Shoendienst in the Worlld Series, Yanks vs. Cards. I've seen managers such as Billy Martin, Dick Williams, and Whitey Herzog. Dick Howser. Sparky Anderson. Earl Weaver. Walter Alston. Chuck Dressen, Gil Hodges. Bums like Joe Altobelli. Buddy Bell. Grady Little. Pat Corrales, the only manager ever fired while his team was in first place. So I think I know a little bit about managers. I will wait a while until you guys get to know me a bit and then I will tell you guys what I think of Fredi and why.
  8. this could have put nail on marlins let get new manger and look forward to 2009 season tonight we could be 6 game back that hurt Yeah...this one was a killer. But you know what? We've been saying that all year. We have lost so many heart breaking, back breaking, season ending, demoralizing, crushing defeats this year it's ridiculous. This team was in first place for nearly an entire month. I keep hearing that "we have done better than expected, we were supposed to lose100 games so be happy, etc., etc." I'm sorry guys. That does not cut it with me.
  9. Now the breaks are GOING OUR WAY! We're gonna win this one, fellas. game over. WARNING, Kingzfan10 is a TROLL from the MLB board! It appears he has followed me over here. He's about 15 or 16 years old, likes to call EVERYONE who doesn't agree with him an IDIOT, even ladies, and has even THREATENED to kick guys' @sses, LOL! I'm telling you guys this so you know WHO HE IS AND WHY HE CAME HERE. He came here to continue being my OWN PERSONAL TROLL like he was on the MLB board. MOST GUYS on the MLB board have this punk on IGNORE. I made the mistake of cursing him out and I got banned from MLB. I'm just going to IGNORE HIM OVER ON THIS BOARD. I'm quite certain the MODS here will take care of him, lol. The mods at MLB are the worst.
  10. Now the breaks are GOING OUR WAY! We're gonna win this one, fellas.
  11. Brand new ballgame. Here comes Lindstrom. Fredi likes to bring back relievers that SCREWED UP as soon as possible. I understand why, but I usually don't like it. But in this case I understand it.
  12. Thank you, Gonzo! SIMPLEST THING. BUNT THE RUNNER OVER TO 3rd base, hit a sac fly. Yet we STRUGGLE ALL YEAR to do it!
  13. HOW LUCKY they didn't cover 3rd! That was a LOUSY BUNT. All this time, HERMIDA STILL DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO BUNT. So, here we go, a SIMPLE THING, runner on 3rd, less than two outs. A SIMPLE THING that we have so much trouble with.
  14. Mets due for a LOSS tomorrow, GUARANTEED. We win, and we will be back to 4 out. The Mets are going to have at LEAST one losing streak if not more before the season is over. Do NOT give up hope yet.
  15. The METS are going to have a losing streak soon, TRUST ME. As long as we don't fall MORE than 5 games back we still have a shot.
  16. And some of it is because these pitchers are YOUNG. This kid is 21 years old. I don't know if you are talking about Lindstrom, but he is 28. Wow, my bad. I have no idea why I thought he was 21. Well, can't excuse him because of YOUTH.
  17. And some of it is because these pitchers are YOUNG. This kid is 21 years old.
  18. We LOSE GAMES BECAUSE THIS TEAM IS NOT FUNDAMENTALLY SOUND. SIMPLE AS THAT. LEAD OFF WALKS ARE THE ABSOLUTE WORST, STUPIDEST THING YOU CAN DO AS A PITCHER. I BELIEVE THAT 67% OF THE TIME THE RUNNER SCORES. TO DO IT IN THE BOTTOM OF THE 9TH IS BEGGING TO LOSE THE GAME! OUR PITCHERS DO THIS (LEAD OFF WALKS) ALL THE TIME. SOME OF THAT FAULT GOES TO THE PITCHING COACH.
  19. Dude, I'm new here. Am I supposed to argue with you about everything? Are you THE BIG CHEESE on this board? Are you THE MAN over here? Am I supposed to be impressed or intimidated by you? You talking to me? Yeah, I'm talking to you. You seem to be nit picking everything I say. Look, I'm not trying to take your spot. You THE MAN over here, that's cool. But I have my opinions, and you have yours. I'm not trying to nitpick anything, just trying to have a conversation with a fellow fan. Not sure what I did to set you off, but I apologize if I said anything negative, but I believe the point of forums aren't to just post your opinions and statements, but to have people talk about them. If I said "Hanley has the biggest heart on the team and has never did anything selfish. He always puts it all out there and never does anything for himself. Plus, he plays awesome defense.", I would love for you to give your opinion on it. Once again, I am sorry if I did anything to make you think I was attacking you or trying to pick on you, because I quite honestly had no intention of such a thing. I was just trying to have a conversation with the new guy. No, let me apologize to YOU. I misread your post; my bad! Listen, don't get me wrong; I like Hanley a lot! I think he's gonna one day be possibly the best player in the game. It's just that I always see him on the ground acting like he's dying and it turns out to be nothing major. But I guess all ballplayers do that these days; in the old days players never acted like they were hurt, lol.
  20. But I have my opinions, and you have yours. dont worry man he's not trying to pick on you or nething like that, he's like that with everyone he thinks is wrong about something Look brother, we all have our OPINIONS. Very rarely is something BLACK OR WHITE, right or wrong. I been following this game my whole life, and I'm 52 years old. I've FORGOTTEN moreabout baseball than a lot of guys know. But I'm not gonna jump all over a guy if I disagree with his OPINION. To me, ALL of today's ballplayers act like babies. In the old days, guy would just get up, rub some dirt where it hurts and keep playing. To me, everytime I see Hanley on the ground acting like he's got a broken arm, I gotta laugh.
  21. JAKE IS POPPING THE sh*t OUT OF THE BASEBALL!!! jake does not get hot, he may have two or three good games in a row and then suck again Yeah he hits his couple of RBI Jacks every couple of weeks and then goes back to swinging at anything and his defense is just terrible... yeah at least his defense is consistently terrible lol TRUE THAT.
  22. I like Jacobs but I really wish he'd get in a hitting streak once and a while... LOL...Jake IS very streaky. Right now he is in a BAD streak. He'll break out of it...eventually.

  25. No, the Pitcher's Best Friend is the Double Play. That's a very old baseball saying.
