  1. I havent felt this bad in a while. Not me. After the loss in Colorado...no loss hurts as much. Oh, you're right about that. THAT was the worst.
  2. Yup...COMPLETELY GRAY....that's going to be the color of my hair by season's end. Not just a FEW gray hairs here and there, but COMPLETELY gray. Kevin Gregg is responsible for much of that. And seriously, you guys get a good look at Hanley's glove? That is an outfielder's glove. No wonder he has trouble getting the ball out of it. DUH! I mean come on already; that's why infielders use small gloves for the most part.
  3. How did Dan Uggla not make the poll? I mean...c'mon...how idiotic was that? Who covers 2nd, in that situation? That was the dumbest sh*t I've ever seen, in a baseball game. Did Dan Uggla really do that? It was so stupid even Tommy Hutton mentioned it, after the game. Did these guys ever get past Little League? You know...don't walk the leadoff hitter when you have a big lead. Get the ball out of your f***ing glove! Don't cover 2B when that run doesn't f***ing matter! Oh...and just so you know I didn't forget...DON'T STEAL 2ND, when your 2 runs down in the 9th! UGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bonehead plays counter for Uggla has been flying off the chart lately... does the guy have any basic baseball instincts? Or did he just pick up a bat one day and decided he wanted to wack the ball as hard as he could? EXACTLY. Uggla needs to be put on the DL like Pinto was and sent to get professional help from a sports psychologist. The absolutely INSANE things he's been doing since the ASG seem to confirm my suspiscions that he is PSYCHED OUT mentally. As for Hanley, he's using a OF glove at SS. Move him to CF already with that glove. And Gregg? Look, despite the other f*ck ups, Gregg was lousy. Worst closer in baseball. My hair will be COMPLETELY gray by season's end.
  4. Gregg is a total BUM. I hope we have a different closer next year. He only has ONE PITCH HE CAN THROW FOR STRIKES, AND HE'S NO MARIANO RIVERA who can GET AWAY with just having one pitch. Hanley needs a NORMAL infielder's glove. There is a REASON infielders use small gloves; you just saw one of them. To get the ball OUT OF IT QUICKLY! And I have been telling you guys that Uggla is LETHAL to this team right now. He is PSYCHED OUT mentally and has been so since the All Star Game. You guys keep talking about he's in a "SLUMP". This is no SLUMP. He is MENTALLY SCREWED UP. He gets caught stealing TWICE, once in the 9th inning where there was no steal sign, he forgets how many outs there are and just takes off, he makes two errors on one play the other day, kicking a ball into left field, and tonight he BREAKS TO COVER SECOND ON A STEAL and the batter hits it right where he was supposed to be! Uggla needs help, pssibly professional help, like a sports psychologist. His mind is just totally SHOT right now. But this loss - this loss proves we don't deserve to win this year. I hate to say it, but teams that lose games like this one and that 18-17 abortion in Colorado DO NOT DESERVE to make the playoffs.
  5. will King Arthur's role change at all with Pinto on the DL, or will he remain a lefty specialist? "King Arthur" remains the lefty specialist, and I think Hendrickson sees a little more work, if anything. However, I see no reason why the bullpen will see as much work as it did in the 1st half, so it shouldn't be a problem. The SP is better nowadays. Those last 5 words cannot be emphasised enough NO DOUBT.
  6. Looking WAY too far ahead, fellas. We just gotta WIN games. And because there are two teams in front of us, one of them has to LOSE games, games other than those against US.
  7. he needs to keep this going 1 or 2 weeks to say hes really back Agreed. Like the whole team lately, he's been inconsistent. In order for us to say he's really back, he'll have to start having good games consistently. He has a good game or two and I think he's coming out of it, then he has a couple 0-4s with two Ks in each. Then the next game he'll go 1-4. Three hit games like today have been rare for him of late. It's maddenning, just as our entire team is maddenning, not being able to win any games in a row.
  8. You're basing way too much on one month worth of data. That's way too quick to do such a massive lineup change. If I were managing the team, the lineups would change based regularly based on the current splits. If a player goes into a slump, he has no business batting 1-4. Move someone up whose getting hot until he breaks his slump. Keeping someone in an important spot in the lineup when he's not hitting is a detriment to the team. Now, if you're sub-.500 and have no hope of playing in October, then you can let a cold bat stay. But, when you're fighting for the division, you chave to always play your hottest hitters in those important spots. Let the slumping hitter bat 6-7 or sub him in later in the game when you have a lead...and if he breaks out of his slump, let him start/move up the line up. But, he absolutely has to earn his spot...no free spots in a pennant race. With that philosophy I doubt you will ever get to see time in the dugout... True, he wouldn't. But there is something to be said for managing differently when you're in a pennant race!

And then when he finally does get a hit, you wouldn't bench him against a pitcher he's batting .750 against, 6-8 with 2 HRs? LOL....
  10. Mets lost again. Is this possibly the beginning of their downslide? Today is our chance to gain a little ground. I told you guys it was coming, right? What goes up must come down, and they were due to come down. Now WE need a streak. 8-2 oughta do it, get us right back up there.
  11. I said it before, if we can get the Mets' lead down to THREE GAMES, but no more than FOUR, we got a huge chance to get right back up there this weekend when the Mets come in for a three game Series. Three Games out by Friday would be PRIME. Means we gotta beat up on the Braves. Hell, everybody else does! yes man, we are due!!!!!!!!!! Sure we are! We've had our streak of bad baseball; it's behind us. Now it's time for us to go on a run, like an 8-2 streak. We'll be right back in the race.

  13. on a random note after checking the cubs box score rich harden has 8 starts for the cubs and recorded 10, 10, 10, 9, 8, 2, 10, 11 strikeouts that is flat out sick i noticed that. And he's played all his games so far for the cubs. Yeah, but he rarely gets past the 6th inning.
  14. Rich Waltz is 100% correct about Nolsasco's curve ball. That is an OLD SCHOOL 12-6 curve ball that very few pitchers throw these days. Gooden had a curve like that. Bert Blyleven. You young guys take note; you are seeing a kind of pitching style that is almost extinct in these days of cutters, splitters, etc.
  15. Need some RUNS! Hate to see the bullpen get this game in the 7th inning with only a 2-1 lead. patience my friend Yes, you're right. But like Pavlov's dog, our bullpen has conditioned me...to FEAR their appearance in a close game.
  16. Treanor has ALWAYS been a poor hitter. We got THREE FRIGGIN' CATCHERS, our offense sucks, and the worst hitting one is in the line up. Grrrr....

  18. LOL!!! Rickey can HIT!
  19. 30 pitch inning from ricky if my mind serves me correctly ricky often struggles in the 1st then settles down YUP!
  20. But isn't Davis the guy that Jacobs is like 6 for 8 against? I mean we finally get a pitcher Jake has a good track record against, and Fredi benches him? http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/bvsp?playerId=6385 6 for 8 with 2 HRs, eh? .750 BA. And he's sitting it out. Ooookaaaay.
