August 21, 200817 yr Really don't know what to say here...anyone want to try to dissect this one? Ramirez SS Lo Duca C Cantu 3B Jacobs 1B Uggla 2B Willingham LF Ross CF Hermida RF Olsen P
August 21, 200817 yr I say its a great job by Fredi trying to mix things up a bit...I think you have a much different opinion though.
August 21, 200817 yr My theory is that Hermida has been sucking ass and Fredi finally decided to change things up a bit and stick someone else in the #2 spot.
August 21, 200817 yr Offensively a good move. He is a much better #2 hitter than Hermida. Defensively, we'll have to see if the Giants run on him.
August 21, 200817 yr whats wrong with it hes a good no.2 hitter i believe he was he was 2nd batter wen we had him in 2005
August 21, 200817 yr LoDuca is a contact hitter, he is looking for a 1-2 punch with LoDuca and Cantu to try to get a guy like Hanley home when he gets on base.
August 21, 200817 yr I would have probably preferred LoDuca at 1st base for the slumping Jacobs and also because Baker is HOT and fired up playing in front of his home town. So I like LoDuca in the lineup batting second, but not catching.

I also wouldn't mind seeing LoDuca batting second but taking Willingham's spot. This way you keep both Baker and Jacobs in the lineup.
August 21, 200817 yr A good thing the expectations for LoDuca's performance aren't too high this evening. :brigginbounce
August 21, 200817 yr if it wins the game i am all for it Either way, its terrible lineup management. He's gotten 300+ ABs in five different spots in the order. Three guesses which one amongst those is his worst.

He will get better pitches batting in front of Cantu who is ripping the ball and Jacobs who can take one out.

Its terrible underutilization.
August 21, 200817 yr Thank god for Lo Duca. Fredi, I think it is a great idea to leave Jeremy down at the bottom of the order. Way to disregard the start Hermida got off to after the ASB. That is all BS anyways. Hermida is a bum and deserves to be at the bottom of the order. Well done, sir. Well done.

But Tommy Hutton says he is a perfect #2 hitter, so it must be true.

Ugh yea, why dont you come up with another great lineup then? :|
August 21, 200817 yr Ugh yea, why dont you come up with another great lineup then? :| This team's best lineup does not include LoDuca.

If we are going to see the Giants run it will be on Baker. I gotta say, he has gotten a little better defensively, but teams should be running alot on him.
