All Star Game Starter Debate
JJ's had a better year. Ubaldo will start unless he has a terrible start before the game, simply because the hype is all over him. It's not the hype. JJ gets plenty of hype as well. As of now Ubaldo deserves it a little more. And why is that? As much as I love Josh Johnson, Ubaldo Jimenez will probably get the start in the All-Star game. Not only has he pitched more innings but he has a much better record. Also, let's not forget about Ubaldo's no-hitter earlier this season. That's irrelevant. And as I said, having a better record is dependent on his team. So that just leaves the 5 extra innings he's pitched, as the only relevant point. Really? A no-hitter is irrelevant? Don't get me wrong, I want Josh Johnson to start considering he's my favorite player but in all likelihood, Ubaldo Jimenez gets the start.

What's Loria's/Beinfest email?
What we really need is Fredi's E-mail/phone number. That way we can E-mail/text him who to use out of the bullpen during games. I have no idea what he was thinking leaving Tankersley out there to pitch to Ben Francisco. If it were me, you would've seen Leo Nunez out there trying to complete the four out save. Fredi has cost us a few games this season and meanwhile most of the blame belongs to our bullpen there are still several situations where he could have managed the game a lot better. I'm not against bringing in a new manager to finish the season. It worked in 2003 and worked for the Miami Heat in 2006.

News on Johnson Contract Talks
I remember the last time somebody on this site tried to offer "Inside Information". He said his sources told him the Miami Heat and Lamar Odom had agreed to a long term contract. Aw, that was good times. Lol I was being sarcastic with all the inside information crap. However, everything else was right on the money.

Pudge or CJ?
Personally I would choose CJ over Pudge. CJ was drafted by the Marlins and spent quite a few years with the organization. Both catchers won a title with the team but CJ also caught a few no-hitters and is a much bigger part of Marlins history than Rodriguez ever will be. Pudge only played with us for a year after a down season and bolted at the end of the 03 season for more money.

John Smoltz?
April Fools right? The only way John Smoltz ends up on the Marlins is if he thows batting practice for free.

So we blew one game ... big deal
Don't pin last night's loss on the bullpen, four of the six runs that scored were charged to JJ. Granted JJ has been outstanding all year, I believe this is the first game in 19 starts that he has allowed more than 3 runs. Phillies lost either way so we're still 5 games out. We need to move forward and try to take the last two games of the series.

Detroit looks to reunite with former Tiger Cody Ross...
Cody has become a bit of a fan favorite here. If we do trade him, I doubt it will be to Detroit. Maybe a Cody/Uggla or Cody/Hermida package to a team for a top bat or starter? Yeah fan favorite and sexiest Marlin player. Sorry had to throw that out. LMAO! Any more outbursts Bruno?

Just to Add to the Bonifacio Bashing...
No I wasn't kidding at all. His biggest problem is the need to rush a throw or double pump before making a routine throw to first. If you like speak to Andy Fox he will tell you Bonifacios arm is above average. Also, you have to keep in mind his natural position is 2b and moving to 3b is a huge adjustment. I can't exactly call Fox on the phone right now. You got a source? (Not that I exactly think of Fox as wizard of a defensive coach, but there's a reason he's being paid for this stuff and I'm not.) I can three-way Andy later on tonight if you like. The point I'm trying to make is Bonifacio does have a good arm even when playing 3b, just because he doesn't throw full strength like Furcal everytime doesn't mean he doesn't have a good arm. I've seen plays where Boni needs to make a quick throw and he displays his arm strength.

Just to Add to the Bonifacio Bashing...
I could understand not being familiar with a position and making a few errors but he is tied for the league lead in errors. I just don't understand it, he can make some fantastic plays look easy but he makes routine plays look so difficult. That's b/c his range is fine, but he doesn't have the arm of a 3B. He's a 2B. Bonifacio actually has an excellent arm even as a third basemen. Sure his defense can improve, but it's mainly due to his inexperience at a new position. Are you kidding? His arm is by far his biggest problem at 3B. He doesn't have a good arm at all. No I wasn't kidding at all. The "I dislike Renyel Pinto very much" Thread
I really don't understand all the hatred for Pinto. He has been in the league for a couple of years, the guy has great stuff (amazing changeup) and for the most part gets the job done. Sure he may lack control at times but when he puts it together he can be extremely solid. Do you all remember Pinto at the beginning of last year? He was lights out until Fredi overworked him. The dude is coming off an injury, give him some time he'll be fine.

Just to Add to the Bonifacio Bashing...
If we were to trade for Micah Owings or Carlos Zambrano and play them at third base, our offense would improve. I'm willing to bet that our defense wouldn't suffer too badly either. Oh, but we would lose "speed" which is incredibly important, even for a terrible baserunner. Micah Owings: .234/.245/.532 OPS .777 Carlos Zambrano: .217/.234/.457 OPS .691 Emilio Bonifacio: .252/.297/.316 OPS .613 This is obviously tongue in cheek, but I think it shows how ridiculous it is to play a guy who hits like a pitcher everyday on a team with playoff aspirations. To be fair, he's not terrible, defensively. And he's not playing his position, either. But yeah, the infatuation they have with this guy is getting pretty comical, at this point. He's playing LF tonight. I could understand not being familiar with a position and making a few errors but he is tied for the league lead in errors. Grade the Marlins: 1st Half
Starting Pitching: B (Ever since Nolasco regained his form) Bullpen B (Should be a B+if not for Lindstrom collapsing every now and again) Hitting B- (Extremely inconsistent) Bench A- (Gload and Helms have been great) Defense C (Outfield has been great, infield can definitely improve) Management C+ Overall grade: B-

Jayson Werth
You should move to Florida. You should come down to Florida as well, I'll make sure you have a great time. I lived in Miami for close to 6 years when I was attending college down there and after. Might have stayed if there was a venue/atmosphere worth watching games at. Sitting in a 50,000 seat stadium with only 300 other people in the Miami summer just isn't that appealing to me for some reason. Oh I see. So you'd much rather sit with 40,000 drunk idiots cheering on the team that holds the record for most losses in all professional sports?

Isn't Ibanez injured? I figured he wasn't going to the All-Star game because he is injured. When you're 37 and ending up on the All-Star team for the first time, you'd be surprised how hard you manage to return in time. He's came off the DL last night. I live in Philly, and I didn't even know that. Shows how much I hate the Phillies. You should move to Florida. You should come down to Florida as well, I'll make sure you have a great time.

LMAO! I saw this earlier this morning. Classic.

He's much more deserving than Victirino. I mean, he has a .894 OPS. So not the worst choice. Don't get me started on Victorino. Kung Fu Panda was robbed!

So its the Phillies vs the AL? Lol, pretty much. Next thing you know Jamie Moyer becomes the starting pitcher for the N.L All-Stars. Well sounds like the the American League will continue their winning streak.
