August 5, 200917 yr Throughout the season, our bullpen has been pretty much lights out. We have the 7th best bullpen in all of baseball (3.77 ERA). I can't really even remember a more devastating loss than this one all season, and I'm pretty sure every team in baseball has had a loss similar to this one, so big deal. 162 games in a season, our bullpen is only human for crying out loud. And to start the season, what was our biggest concern ??? That's right the bullpen, and they have been such a pleasant surprise all year. I just hate seeing people say "Fire Fredi" "Our bullpen sucks" "Our team won't make the playoffs" etc.
August 5, 200917 yr Don't pin last night's loss on the bullpen, four of the six runs that scored were charged to JJ. Granted JJ has been outstanding all year, I believe this is the first game in 19 starts that he has allowed more than 3 runs. Phillies lost either way so we're still 5 games out. We need to move forward and try to take the last two games of the series.

August 5, 200917 yr the thing is fredi has blown a couple of games for us this year by doing some retarded moves. one loss isnt bad but when you are in a playoff race it hurts...but lets moveo n and hope we take the series and go into philly on a 2 streaker
August 5, 200917 yr i know the Nats are bad... ok, really bad... but they are a Major League team... you can't realistically expect us to go 19-0 against them... 18-1 or 17-2 would be nice enough I'm sure...
August 6, 200917 yr I'm just glad the team is in contention in August after what they did in May. It's a looooong season and sadly the games are getting fewer, get back on that horse and lets ride.

August 6, 200917 yr Ok Im with you there. To be honest, my thoughts after about 98% of our losses is... "I'll tell you in two days if this was bad or not" Because the way baseball is... one loss could mean alot if it leads to a losing streak... or it could mean nothing if it then segues into a winning streak. So my point is, you have to wait a day or two to see how bad a loss is. NOW that we lost game 2, NOW is when game 1 realllly hurt. Lets take game 3, dare I say, we need it.

August 8, 200916 yr Looks like that one blown game has lead to a sweep and a potentional season contention end... Well, for better or for worse we are in Philly right now and we just took game one. I'm not saying we will win any more, but we have the potential to really jump right back into the thick of things and a good showing against Philly will erase the memory of that terrible series.
