July 15, 200916 yr These are always fun Offense: A- 415 runs, good for 4th in the National League. Defense: D 11th in UZR in the National League. Also, 61 errors, the third most in the National League ahead of the Diamondbacks and Nationals. Either way you look at it, the defense has been bad. Starting Pitching: C 4.57 staff ERA ranks 10th in the National League. Bullpen: C 10th in Bullpen ERA and 12th in Bullpen WHIP. Overall: C The team collectively has played average baseball and they're only 4 games out of both the division and wildcard. Isn't that incredible? That just goes to show that if the pitching can show some consistency, which I think it will, and the defense starts catching the ball a little bit better, this team has serious playoff implications. Here's to a strong second half! :cheers
July 15, 200916 yr F, and the only reason I give them that is because they are in contention and therefore not eligible for being kicked out of school. Starting pitching: B+ Bullpen: C+ (too many Greggish Outings) Hitting: B- (Gets really cold often enough) Bench: B (Emilio Bonifacio should be on it) Fielding B- (Defense is a Plus, but Boner is bringing it down. Overall: B

The Rotation besides J.J. has been O.K. so it's a close call but I gave them the benefit of the doubt.
July 16, 200916 yr How do you judge the offense by total runs scored? Actual runs scored per game is way more important. Total runs scored is very misleading.
July 16, 200916 yr How do you judge the offense by total runs scored? Actual runs scored per game is way more important. Total runs scored is very misleading. Alright fine. Marlins are 5th in runs per game, 4th in total runs. Not a huge diff.

July 16, 200916 yr Starting Pitching: B (Ever since Nolasco regained his form) Bullpen B (Should be a B+if not for Lindstrom collapsing every now and again) Hitting B- (Extremely inconsistent) Bench A- (Gload and Helms have been great) Defense C (Outfield has been great, infield can definitely improve) Management C+ Overall grade: B-
