August 24, 200817 yr Great pitching and the bats came alive!!!! We're back! Hermida, Lo Duca, Hanley, Willingham all had big hits in clutch situations. I've got a good feeling about it!

The bats were pretty silent again today, up until that 9th inning, when we finally got some clutch 2 out hits, from Lo Duca and Hanley. We won this game b/c we had our ace on the mound. And yes...I said ace. Not only our ace, but just "ace." It's been about 3 / 3.5 months now...Nolasco's been as good as anyone since that time.

August 24, 200817 yr i was preparing to say that lost among nolasco's awesome outing, the bats once again sucked other than hammer however some clutch hits in the 9th shines a more favourable light on the stats and once again emphasises this teams mentality of never giving up despite recent struggles

If it is a pitcher getting a big hit to help his case or pitching a great game, or both for that matter. That is the kind of thing that gets you going. If it is a pitcher getting a big hit to help his case or pitching a great game, or both for that matter. That is the kind of thing that gets you going. It also helps that our division opponents lost too. It was a great day for us. It was a great day. However, it was one day. To get back in this, we need more than one day. I hope you're right, but this team hasn't won 2 games in a row, in about a month. If we're truly back...lets sweep Atlanta. Atlanta is in disarray right now...lets take advantage.

August 24, 200817 yr This was the first series the Marlins won since taking the Phillies series. And they still have yet to win consecutive games this month. You should know by now that playing well in one game means nothing for the Marlins the next day. Do I want them to go on a winning streak? Of course. The win today feels great, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

August 25, 200817 yr We're back? What happened to the doom and gloom of last week in San Francisco? I hate to say it but some of us look like front runners today just cause we gained a game on the Mets... Bottom line, while we should have beaten the Giants 2 of 3, those losses may have been overrated... The inconsistencies of the Mets and Phillies, coupled with the Marlins' often explosive offense and our numerous games still to come directly against the Mets and Phils means we still aren't out of it... if the Mets hit a bump and we take care of the Braves, we could be in an ENTIRELY different spot next Sunday... and THIS is why I love the game of baseball... don't stop believin! :thumbup

August 25, 200817 yr One game at a time people. I have a good feeling about this stretch though, just to throw it out there. I never thought the Mets would be up top over the Phillies. I think their pitching has WAY over-performed. However, their offense is good. We will see. But I can't remember when they have played good against the Astros, or at least they haven't played well against them since the last series they had. It's almost September lades and gentlemen! As Rowan Atkinson (as Enrico Pollini in Rat Race) would say, "It's a race!"
