Foxsports Power Rankings
http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/powerRankings iT'S GREAT TO SEE HE MARLINS GETTING NATION RECOGNITION FOR THEIR PLAY SO FAR AS FOXSPORTS.COM HAS THEM AS THE #2 TEAM IN THE POWER RANKINGS ONLY BEHIND THE PHILLIES. I REALLY LIKE THIS TEAM BECAUSE UNLIKE OTHER YEARS WHERE THEY WERE DEPENDENT ON TWO OR 3 GUYS TO DO THE MAJORITY OF THE WORK, AND IF THEY DIDN'T IT WAS AN AUTOMATIC LOSS, THIS YEAR IT'S REALLY A TEAM EFFORT FOR EVERY WIN, AND DIFFERENT GUYS STEP UP ALMOST EVERY GAME.
- Where's Stanton's power?

Josh Johnson
•There's a possibility the Marlins will try to deal Josh Johnson this winter even though he won't be a free agent until after 2011. Johnson is not anticipated to take a hometown discount to stay in Florida. -source mlbtraderumors.com Dude don't believe everything you read Johnson is our best and only reliable pitcher and he is very affordable. He is the ace that the team wants to build around there is a 1% chance that we trade him and if we do we have to rob the other team!

Tommy and Rich
i dont think loria and beinfest would like that because there supposed to make our team look as good as possible so maybe fans can be more excited about coming out to the games. Then why can they criticize the players when they mess up?

Tommy and Rich
Don't get me wrong, I love Tommy and Rich and they make the gameentertaining even when it's a blowout. But i have never heard themcriticize Fredi(I don't know to to manage) Gonzalez. I have heard themcriticize about every player on the team including the team stars likeHanley and JJ. But i have never heard them say one negative commentabout one of the worst managers I have ever seen. I don't know if therescared to say something or if they really think this guy can do nowrong.Everytime he makes a move and it goes horribly wrong they backhim up and defend him, and every once a month when he actually makes agood move they praise him for it. Can you guys please explain to me whythis is?

Marlins Host the Braves, 09/01/2009
In 2012 we won't have this problem Yes cause the world will be over by then :banghead Heh. Though, even if that were true (it's not), that's not supposed to go down until December, so we'll get a good season out of it. Yea just a little rain delay humor, i don't believe that either

Marlins Hot After Penny
So only winning 1 game might not qualify us for getting Penny, eh? I still hope we get him especially that Volstad got sent down. August 24th we were 8 games back in the NL East, today 7.5 as I write this which can swing to 7 or eight by night's end, so no harm there. August 24th we were 5.5 games back in the wildcard, after today's play we are 3.5 games back in the wildcard. I'd say we're still in contention. I say why not, I believe we would be responsible for $82K of his salary... Baseball is a funny game, we have a 3-3 week and gain 2 games on the Rox... Lets Go Mets! (Ouch!) Lets go Phils (Geez!) Yeah who would of though we would be rooting for the Mets and Phillies to win in September , haha.

Marlins Hot After Penny
Jon Paul Morosi at Fox Sports says that the Marlins are "among the most serious suitors" for Brad Penny'sservices in the wake of Penny's release from the Red Sox this week.Penny is apparently set to clear release waivers sometime soon. It looks like a decision will come soon. Morosi believes that thefinalization of the move will probably be predicated on how well theFish play against the Padres this weekend, and says that winning thisseries could justify a Penny addition. Morosi also says that theRockies, while still looking for starting pitching, aren't in themarket for Penny. When Penny departed the Marlins for the Dodgersin 2004 in a trade he was in top form, having put up a 3.15 ERA and105/39 K/BB ratio in 131 innings that season. He's only matched thatbrilliance in one season since, but a move to the NL certainly can'thurt. PLEASE GET HIM, PLEASE!
