August 16, 200916 yr I like to tell people that I am the only Marlins fan in Vermont. Of course I may be wrong. I have been a fan since '93 and remember Charlie Hough's first pitch, Chuckie Carr's hot dogging and our first Great - Jeff Conine. In 2003 I was married on October 19 on a cruise ship out of New York harbor, and among honeymoon memories is the joy of of sitting in the sports bar with all those Yankees fans as we creamed 'em. Any other Marlins fans from odd places out there?
August 16, 200916 yr Welcome to the site. I'm a candidate for the oddest place - Scotland. A country in which baseball is non-existent.
August 16, 200916 yr Not necessarily odd, but I'm from Western NY. Not a lot of Marlins fans up here.
August 16, 200916 yr Miami native now living in Charlottesville, VA after 5 years in Missouri and South Dakota. Was there for opening day back in '93 and always catch at least a series or two on the road. (was in Philly last weekend).

August 16, 200916 yr South Jersey... I've been a fan since the beginning, main reason I started following the Malrins was because of my hatred for the Phillies and their fans.

Never seen anyone wear a Marlins jersey here, unless I looked in themirror! Seen maybe 3 people ever wear a Marlins cap. I actually opposedthe idea of them possibly relocating to Vegas, although it would havemeant I could go to more of the games lol.

August 16, 200916 yr Author Great fun. Glad to see there are many of us out there glued to our computer screens. To the guy who hit the Phillies series last week, what great timing. Were you in any danger in the stands?

Were you in any danger in the stands? Nah...it wasn't too bad...though those Philly fans were kinda rough after Victorino was tossed on Sunday. They booed the "God Bless America" singer....but damn, the cheesesteaks at the ballpark were damn good. We had great seats behind home plate on Saturday...right by the MLB scouts. I only hope the Marlins new park is as cool as Citizens Bank.
