Trey05Marlins
I'm sorry, and it's not just because of what happened today, I've felt like this for at least a week. Infante should hit 7th for now. Gaby and LoMo should not be sacrificing at bats so Infante can hit 2nd and barely hit .200 with no clutch hits.

Trey05Marlins
I miss my boy Uggs ;( I don't. Both guys are struggling but the trade was the right move. Infante is playing good defense and pretty soon he will get hot and improve his average. But yes, he needs to hit in the bottom of the order for now. Erick
6th or 7th 8th. No, he's definitely a better hitter than whoever we have playing 3B.

Rabbethan
Gotta move him to 6 or 7. I'd like to see Gaby back in that 2 spot.

I say leave him be for now, he's going to get his best shot to hit with Cogs in front and Hanley and Stanton right behind him. If he's hitting like this in another month or two then drop him down to the 8 hole.

Let him get about 100 PA's before a switch occurs.
Erick
I don't see why the move can't be made now; it's not as if he's magically going to become a better hitter than LoMo or Gaby, for that matter. He'll probably run into his hot streaks over the course of a season like any other player at some point, but he's not a better hitter. It's pretty clear; the #'s tell the story. LordMagnus
Puh lease, we need to keep a guy who makes a ton of outs higher in the order to appease the meatball old school mentality of building lineups. For some reason, Infante is an ideal number two hitter!

LoMo's error had nothing to do with the loss. And until Hanley and Stanton start hitting........ It's getting to the point I almost dread seeing those two come up. Can't quite make out if youre being sarcastic... but 7th inning tie game men in the corners with < 2 outs and arguably the fastest runner in baseball on 3rd base? You cannot ground out into a double play. He also had a chance to redeem himself in the 9th.

If he's incapable of hitting there then screw the lineup, sit him on the bench and make him the utility man he's supposed to be.

He's still far better than having TWO of Helms/Murphy/Bonifacio in the lineup every day.

Give him another month, if he's incapable then we need to start taking a look at what's available inside and outside of the organization because we can't have 3 black holes in our lineup (3B and Buck being the other two at the moment). TrustN61
Unfortunately it doesn't seem to matter to Edwin. He is going to stick with Omar at the 2nd hole a little longer. I just don't understand why the switch isn't being made. It's obvious to me others in our lineup would be better suited in the #2 hole. Oh well..... Jags28
I think you're reading into two week stats a little too much. As are people saying he needs to be moved down in the lineup, he's unquestionably going to see better pitches where he's at because until he shows he can hit pitchers are going to make him beat them rather then risk giving him a free base with the meat of our lineup coming behind him. Right now this is the best spot for him to be in if we want to get his bat going. My point is I don't want to be in the same situation we were in a few years back when we stuck with Bonafacio in the everyday lineup until July which cost us a good shot at the playoffs. If Infante shows us he can hit, then great no problems we all move on. But he has to show us because he doesn't have the pedigree to give him the benefit of the doubt, he had a career year last year but everything else hasn't been terribly far off what we're seeing now. We're stuck at 3B and C if they continue on how I'm expecting them to continue on, if we can shore up 2B if Infante doesn't improve then we need to do it and quickly.
