It was five. We had chances to make up ground there to. But we pissed it away. I'm not looking forward to the St. Louis series. It would be nice to show the NL we could be a team to beat by winning that series and the team would know we'd have a chance in the playoffs if we got there. Well, that's where our best chances are, we still have a bunch of opportunities against the Phillies, we can't afford to piss'em away, call me the king of wishful thinking, but I believe we still can make it.

And Wood was a problem, why? B/c he's not good. Yeah, his 2.20 ERA is terrrrrrible! You gotta love the blinded hatred by some people on this board. "It was a terrible move!" "Er, it worked" "Don't care ... I SAID TERRIBLE MOVE!!!" 16 innings! Bravo! He's one of our best relievers! Who needs Burke Badenhop when you have Tim Wood?? Lets just forget the fact that his ERA doesn't tell the whole story...with his 1.31 WHIP, and the fact that he's absolutely sucked with inherited runners. It worked out tonight. Sorry if I don't applaud the manager for the result. There were many more better relievers available to use in a tight spot in a ballgame. It's reasons like this why everyone yells at Fredi for overusing relievers like Kiko and Pinto. For crying out loud, make up your freaking mind. You can't use a top reliever in the FIFTH inning all the time. Our bullpen is overtaxed as it is. That does not make Wood the best choice, this is not half of the season, our situation is a desperate one, the way I see it our choices are save the pen or win the games, however, that's only my opinion.
