  1. Hanley makes more mental mistakes than all the other players on the team combined. He is on his own wavelength and has his own agenda. As much physical talent as anyone in the game but less and less often applied.
  2. Six appearances, seven and two thirds innings, three hits, a walk, eight strikeouts and zero runs. For Jacksonville.
  3. don't we have 2 or 3 guys in the minors that can start if needed? Not really. Sanabia is hurt and West is a slug.
  4. Hensley has repeatedly said he'd much rather stay in the bullpen, as he feels it's a better role for him and thinks it will prolong his career. Said to whom?
  5. How long to get him ready to start? Weeks, Months? Solid starters are a lot more valuable to a team that solid relievers.
  6. First three rotation spots look solid. Fourth and fifth, not so much. Bullpen is quite effective and deep with a ML proven reliever waiting in New Orleans and others coming along in AA and AAA. How about Clay Hensley into the rotation? He is a former starter and was on his way to being the fifth starter a year ago before the Marlins, unfortunately, picked up Nate Robertson. How long does it take to stretch a reliever out for starter innings?
  7. a single in 2 AB so far for little Hank Canha is now hitting 500 for Greensboro Canha reminds me of Eddie Matthews. He can play third? Good news.
  8. Just so we are dealing in facts only 3 runs were earned. Excellent point. Thank you.
  9. A question for all you experts. JJ, who has had arm surgery, goes for a no hitter into the eighth against Atlanta. Freeman doubles with one out in the eighth and Edwin immediately pulls JJ after 109 pitches. Anibal, who has had should surgery, goes for a no hitter into the ninth against Atlanta. Fowler doubles on Anibal's 117 pitch and Edwin leaves him in to finish the game. Why the difference in the handling extended pitch counts for the two pitchers?
  10. He pitched four great innings for NO tonight. Unfortunately, he gave up seven runs in the other inning.
  11. a single in 2 AB so far for little Hank Canha is now hitting 500 for Greensboro
  12. two for two, a HR and a double
  13. Probably nothing will.
  14. Hank Ozuna hit his sixth HR tonight. Still playing.
  15. Two Grand Slams in the same inning?
  16. Too bad he can't play 3B. Yeah, too bad. We've seen guys jump from Greensboro to the big leagues all the time. Ozuna reminds me of Hank Aaron. Over/under 536 career HRs (Mantle) for Ozuna? I'm going to go with the under because the Marlins will keep him in the minors to delay arbitration and because the Dominicans are getting caught with the steroids lately.
  17. Bryan Petersen reminds me of Babe Ruth. I heard Petersen can really put away the hot dogs.
  18. Too bad he can't play 3B. Yeah, too bad. We've seen guys jump from Greensboro to the big leagues all the time. Ozuna reminds me of Hank Aaron.
  19. Too bad he can't play 3B.
  20. Last five games 20 AB 11 Hits 5 HR 9 RBI At Greensboro

Third straight strong start for Koehler this evening. Maybe this will motivate Volstad tomorrow night.
  22. I recall the overwhelming majority of this board lauding the Vazquez signing and then calling for Nunez to be traded for a centerfielder. Because Leo Nunez has been the whipping boy for quite some time right now and the Javier Vazquez signing isn't bad if you look at it from a boom-bust potential aspect. But that's dynamic thinking. Something you're clearly not capable of. So, in your opinion, piling on a whipping boy is an example of dynamic thinking!
  23. "Realistically, anyone who wants to trade Hanley Ramirez for three Wes Helms isn't worth responding to, anyway. But I guess it becomes fun and rather addictive to make someone look stupid." It is not often that the perfect riposte is in such juxtaposition - but there it is.
  24. No, you cannot play in the Major Leagues while living with your parents. Well I guess there goes your hopes at playing in the Major Leagues, kid. See what I did there? I'm just as funny as you now. not at all. The difference being, of course, is that I'm not living with my parents and you are.
  25. He's having an MRI done right now, he had more discomfort this morning. Not good plantar fasciitis is a reasonable diagnosis
